Oh! I meant to mention that I spoke with my mom, who is an MD about what she thought about PhD/EdDs/other doctorates calling themselves "Doctor." She said no skin off her back, if they earned their degree from an accredited university, good for them. Doesn't cheapen what she does in the slightest. She did say if my dad ever insisted on being called Doctor she would stick his Juris up his Prudence, though. 

 

Or as Alex likes to remind me, I am but a Bachelor whereas he is the Master. :rolleyes:

Well, the Master Piledriver is off in the UK right now, quarantining so he can surprise his daughter on Christmas Eve. Bachelor Servant is at home and will be until New Year's Day alone. 😕 

On the other hand, I did sleep very well last night and I got a lot of chores done today so 🤷‍♀️

Well, and this is going to sound awful, but I got very used to having a housekeeper or weekly cleaner come in. (Housekeeper was with Voldy, it was a big house and we did a lot of entertaining, so I needed the help.) But with COVID I had to let my cleaner go, though I still pay her exactly what I would have paid her if she and I were comfortable with her coming in here. (It's really the right thing to do -- I can afford it, she's excellent and I want to have her come back when everything is over.) So I had to pick up the slack and do what I did 10 years ago -- take care of everything myself. Two people and no kids or pets is manageable, and since there's no team sports at the moment, no football/soccer kit to clean. (Gross.) I'm perfectly capable of doing it all, but I have to admit my cleaner is better. :)

I work for a lot of Doctors, mostly Cardiologists and surgeons, and when I'm in their home, they don't like discussing their work at all, let alone being called "Doctor", it's on a first name basis.. I think it depends where they are and what capacity.  

 

As for Jill, I think people need to lighten up on her, she's get's her husband through those tough interviews with her ventriloquism, that's not easy you know.. And she has 4 tough years ahead of her too, reminding Joe where he is and that he's no longer a Senator.
