Hello,

I am a US citizen who married my wife in India on September 2020. I filed for CR-1 petition online with priority date in mid October 2020.

for evidence of relationship, I included the marriage certificate,  2 affidavits showing authenticity of marriage, some marriage and relation photos, and the marriage invitation card.

I was not able to find any bills with same name, and am having a hard time making a bank account with joint name since my spouse has never entered the US.

However, in the coming months, it may be possible for me to provide more such as taxes filed jointly and credit card name added.

My question is, is it possible to upload these documents online even once my file has received NOA1? I know there’s an additional documents section where it is possible to upload. I don’t believe that they have looked at my file yet and I fear that I may not have enough evidence for them to approve my file. Please advise.

You can try, but don't expect much.  There's a note on that section itself that says USCIS does not guarantee that unsolicited documents will be looked at.

1st - If you want help, help others. Fill out your timeline

2nd - There's lots of threads on this, try searching the forum, this question gets asked over and over.

3rd - Affidavits don't carry any weight, you can get anyone to write one. Invitation not a lot of weight, would depend on if you can tie it together with other things.

4th - you are missing basic things like boarding passes, passport stamps.

5th - You can upload things, but it doesn't mean you won't get an RFE, at that point you might have to mail it in.

What do your "relation photos" look like?

Thank you for your response.

Relation photos are mostly marriage photos and some selfies/pictures together when hanging out together.

I will upload the credit card joint statement, passport stamps/ticket/boarding pass, and also upload tax return (when ready).

If you have any other advise please let me know. Thank you

photos : less selfie the better, pictures when you traveled ( just examples : eiffel tower at the background, niagara falls at the background,  <--- proofs you travelled together, with the 2 of you in  the frame of course ), different hair / facial hair ( it shows you've been together for certain amount of time ), pictures with families, friends etc

The photos should tell a story that shows evidence of a bonafide marriage.

Marriage photos are fine, but there should be more.

With family and friends is a plus.

For the selfies, if it's just up close selfies, a lot of those won't help, it helps to see where you are, that you're out doing things together.

Joint credit card statement is good evidence.

99% of what I provided was

- Boarding passes

- Passport stamps (although not sure this matters with the boarding passes)

- Photos

You could connect some of my photos and boarding passes.

I was able to take a lot of trips, so that was helpful in my case.

If your I-130 petition gets approved without an RFE, it will likely depend on the specific evidence you submitted and the circumstances of your relationship.  Are there any red flags?  How much face to face time have you actually spent together, in person?  Did you marry on the first visit?  Is there a big age difference?  Mumbai can be a challenging consulate sometimes, so that would suggest more evidence than what you described will be required for approval.  The key evidence for a greater chance of petition and eventually visa approval is documentation of time spent together, the more visits and time the better (passport stamps, original boarding passes, hotel receipts, etc.), and as much financial co-mingling evidence as you can get while still living in different countries.  Do more research here on VJ to see what others have done.   I suggest that you wait and see if you get an RFE for the I-130, if you do, respond to it with the additional evidence they ask for.  Whether you get an RFE or not, I also suggest that you upload additional evidence of time spent together since filing the I-130 and more financial co-mingling evidence at the NVC stage, some call it "side-loading," especially if you have any red flags as mentioned above.  Make more visits while waiting for the petition to be adjudicated and save all the evidence so that you'll be ready to send it in response to the RFE if you get one, or to side-load it at the NVC stage.  Good luck!
