Hello,

Just got the interview date for N400 interview and I'm working on putting together the document I must take with me. I read the appointment letter and also searched post created by many in the past. So here is what I have so far.

  1. Appointment Letter
  2. Green Card
  3. Selective Service: Does not apply as I was a non immigrant before 26.
  4. Previous passports
  5. Itinerary for all my travel dates in the past 5 years. I don't have the boarding pass for all of them but I do have electronic tickets which I'll print.
  6. Tax transcripts for the last 5 years.
  7.  I have multiple traffic citations over the years which I paid. Unfortunately I didn't keep the receipts. I was lucky enough to find court record for one of the citation in one of the county online which I printed but unfortunately courts don't keep records more than 10 years. I have requested DMV personal driving record though. I viewed my record online as well and it's clean.
  8. Marriage certificate just in case along with the copy of my wife's GC. She got the GC through me.
  9. Passport size photos. I'll bring a few just incase as I've seen other mention this.

Does this look like a good list to carry to the interview? Please let me know if I'm missing anything.

Some more questions.

  • My wife hasn't arrived to US when I filed the application but she is now. Do I print out and take an updated page for Part 10 (Marital History) so it's easier for IO?
  • Regarding #7 - would not having receipts of traffic violation cause an issue? I'll have the latest DMV record going 11 years back. Also, if I hadn't taken care of the fines they would have suspended my license.
  • I've been working for the same company that sponsored by GC. I also owned and operated side business (part-time) after getting my GC which I've listed in the application and file taxes for. Is there any additional documentations I need to take for that?

Thanks a lot!

Hum, I wasn't aware that you need to print plane tickets if your travels were below 6 months and were reported.

I'll add maybe the account transcript from the IRS and the driver record being virgin for the paid speed tickets.

Otherwise, print as much as possible and good luck!

Thanks for replying. Yeah, I'm going to take printed plane tickets as some of my passport stamps aren't very legible.

Great list and more than I presented. Mine didn’t have tax transcripts or plane tickets etc.

Didn’t matter in the interview as they didn’t check any of the evidence. It was mostly going over the yes/no questions.

Your list looks good to me! All the best!

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

More Importantly, I am a proud Anti-Fascist!

Got done with my interview. The document list was pretty exhaustive in hindsight. Hopefully it's helpful to someone.

Green Card, Drivers License, Appointment letter, driving record were the only thing that were looked at by IO.

Oath Ceremony next!
