A quick question about the DOS line..

Just a quick question... Does the DOS line tell you if the interview was successful and that we have been approved?

My case is still pending I went to the interview and medical - the medical needed another letter from my GP and a psychiatic evaluation, at this stage they have the GP letter now(faxed to them on Friday) and my psych appointment in on 3 july. I was hoping the GP letter may be sufficient and fingers crossed the medical doc would just do a report for the embassy with only that letter!

My interview went ok but my police data letter hadnt arrived - so i had to wait till that arrived - when it did i got the couriers to pick it up and take to embassy that went down on saturday.

So thats whats happening - I know I babble but my question is if my David (USC) calls the DOS line will they have any idea as to whats happened? will they just say still pending? or should i do all the calling - I know I can call the medical ppl to see if they received everything and if the report has been sent to the embassy or not? I guess I am wandering about this as I dont know when they will send my passport to me - so I can look out for the courier:). And what happend is the courier arrives - and I am not at home do they leave a message and come back again or will they just take it to the Post office like our normal mail when thats not delivered and I have to go to the Post office to collect it?

thanks for your help in advance -- I am just worrying as usual :)

I know that they can tell you when the visa has been dispatched. My hubby called them as I had to send in additional information as well. We had heard nothing for nearly 4 weeks so he phoned the DOS and they told him that the visa was dispatched a few days earlier.

If the couriers try to deliver your visa and you're not in, they are supposed to leave a card so you can rearrange delivery.

They can tell you whatever information London enters into the computer. It can't hurt to call, even if they aren't up to date. I'm guessing the Embassy staff are pretty well trained to make a clear record since government agencies love them some paper trails/data trails - so I would *think* they would know if you've been approved.

Give 'em a call and see what they say! Be prepared that they might not have any more information yet - and don't take that as good or bad news, just no news at all. 1-202-663-1225, press 1, then 0.
