I know, it’s nuts there is like 6 heading over and I think 4 or 5 can be accounted to this website lol. Unless that’s all of us in Australia to begin with.

I’m really curious how long it will take to hear from the consulate. Do you know if they will mail something to my partner in australia immediately? I asked in another thread but no response yet lol

I am wondering that as well. @Greenbaum would you happen to know how long does it usually takes for case status on CEAC to change to 'Ready'? Is that the first status that would show when cases reach the consulate? And is that only when they are ready to accept the electronic version of the case or only when they get both physical and electronic versions of the case? Thank you, much appreciated

In the monthly threads (NOA2 to NVC to Embassy) I have a PDF file that is on the first page first post that speaks directly to that issue. I'll give the link as well as the quoted test which will answer your question.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical
case file is at the Embassy, and 3) ready - your case is prepared to schedule and complete your
interview. These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received
the case number. Once your record is set to "ready" you are, you can proceed in processing
your next steps as listed in your P3 for your Embassy. There are two ready conditions: the first
ready is the electronic version arriving at the Embassy, and the second ready is the paper file
that has arrived at the Embassy. Sometimes these ready conditions can appear within hours of
each other and sometimes a few days apart.

You may want to become a part of the conversation for your region/country in the VJ sub-forum for your country. There you will get "boots on the ground" answers and help for your specific region or country. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about three-fourths of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

If you are the Australian they email you or contact you via whatever is on the i129f. From what I’ve seen looking at other people’s timelines they contact the beneficiary 2-5 business days after they receive it.

Wanted to update in case anyone ends up in my situation in the future and reads this thread. My case status changed to Ready this past Wednesday! So overall it took 8 days (12/8-12/16) for the status to change. However when I check on DHL, it now says shipment on hold. So I don’t know what’s going on there but I’m just happy it says Ready!

I just tried the hack and it says the 'Origin Service Area' is Boston... is that right?

Also, what does the EXP stand for on the Shipment Reference?
