I read somewhere that in early stages of pregnancy you don't need to do anything special to your diet except perhaps make sure you get all your vitamins and generally eat healthy (which we should probably do anyway....).

So yeah, in the early stages you could fast. Ramadan is about....2.5 months away? So think how far along you are, and how long until Ramadan, then you see it may or may not be healthy for the baby. I'm not an authority on the pregnancy topic so I'd say ask a doctor or something.

I could NEVER be able to fast when I was pregnant. The first four months I had to always have a sleeve of saltine crackers nearby 'cause if my stomach was empty I'd hurl and the only thing I could eat was saltines and Cheerios. The rest of the time I had NO willpower. NONE. If i wanted fries I'd leave work and get the freakin' fries. My boss just had to deal.

I give props to anyone who can fast when they're pregnant.

I may have an audience for the first months of this marriage. Just 2 weeks ago I realized that sound travels pretty well thru the floor. she had her headphones plugged in the electric organ thing, and I could hear the dull thump the keys make when they are pressed down. That room is below mine, and I think I had the door closed and I could hear it. So...hmmmm.... And from the living room downstairs I can hear my cat jump down from the sink where her food is upstairs.

First thing we're doing when he gets here is putting a rug underneath the bed. I have hardwood floors and an iron post bed and two kids with excellent hearing.

ugh i just baked some salmon in the oven and burnt my hand on the pan. i've had it soaking in ice water for an hour now, took tylenol extra-strength, and it still hurrrrrrrrrts! :bonk:

Use some lavender essential oil on the burned area. It should make the burning stop within just a couple of minutes.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

m running out of ice in the freezer!

Did you try butter or olive oil? Maybe it only works in the first few minutes. When we were sunburned at the beach as kids we we doused with vinger took the sting out. any other home remedies?

no offense, but the pork talk is gross....sofyan, well he just tries not to think about it being cooked around what hes eating at a restaurant or whatever, but i dont think he has ever eaten it on accident, Im not muslim, but never did eat pork, or dark meat for that matter, so when i see pork, it TOTALLY grosses me out....

Halal meat, we do both, I like getting chicken from the Arab store only because i like the whole fryers and they cut it and skin it...

ahhh its MUCH better now... after keeping my hand in cool water for about 8 hours it finally stopped burning. then i noticed my friend had lavendar lotion so i put that on. its still burnt looking and rough but not a big blister like i thought i would have! as annoying as it was, i guess keeping it in water all that time helped!
