I am an LPR and for the past 4.5 years have been working for a foreign company online and was getting paid in my US bank account. While I was an employee of the foreign company working online, but for tax purposes my income was reported in schedule C to IRS. I am filing N-400 now and I am confused how to report my employment history. Should list the 4.5 years as self employed?  or should I list the foreign company as my employer? I would appreciate to have your feedbacks and advice. Thanks.

It is the same company I used to work before I immigrated and my employment continued after I immigrated on the same terms online.

This doesn't really answer the question. Do you have benefits through the company or do you get everything on your own? Do they withhold income taxes or pay social security?

If you are filing C to IRS it seems the company is paying for your services and you are not employed by the company. There is a difference.

If you are a contractor then you would have to check 'self-employed'

I appreciate your inputs and I am sorry for not being very clear. I didn't have any benefits from the company and got everything on my own nor they withheld income taxes or pay social security.

Then you are self-employed.
