Gift Tax and Stock Assets

I am in the process of getting a Green Card through marriage and have my EAD Combo Card since October. As i am not living in my home country anymore, my bank does not allow me to keep my stock depot and I thought about gifting the stock to my parents.

Does anyone have experience with having stock while in the process of applying for a green card (before even being a green card holder) or even transferring them to a relative?

Follow your bank's guidelines on how to do the transfer.  Each bank will have their own procedures.  You may be asked to fill out and send them a W-8BEN form.
