I would just like to add that getting an AKA on the NBI clearance has been difficult for my wife. Unless you have a previous marriage or other names they won't add it. At least that was our experience in Manila (UN Ave). They told my wife it would need to be a request from the embassy and if they added her maiden name as an AKA it would cause problems (and it wouldn't make sense to do so). We have gone to the NBI three times to try to get it and they even had her speak to "someone upstairs". Hoping they don't require it during the interview since all of her names are already listed on the clearance.

You got approved. What is the final verdict on AKA?

They accepted her clearance and didn’t even mention the AKA.

I saw some others mention that it isn’t needed for first marriages as long as no discrepancies on birth certificate and no other names.

hope this can be of some relief to others

When we got one for my wife, it shows her (birth name) and also has a section for husband's surname so that would cover her maiden and married name. She did it walk in and out the same day with certificate, but could have also submitted the info online and went in to pick up.

My wife's NBI did not say AKA on the actual certificate, but she did add an AKA online when she submitted her name when requesting it. The embassy didn't mention anything about it. She passed her interview. She had never been married before and never made any changes on her birth certificate.

The embassy states, "Please note that an NBI Clearance with an AKA is also required."
I think this means just add an AKA online when you are filling out the request form, but an AKA doesn't have to show up on the printed certificate they give you if you have no prior marriages or if you didn't modify your birth certificate.
