I will have an interview for N-400 and it looks I need to bring the evidence of Selective Service registration.

I got my green card when I was 38 from H1-B, so it is already passed age 26.  Therefore I cannot bring the evidence since I am not registered.  What would be the problem at the interview?  Please advice me.

I entered the US with F-1 when I was 23.  And I got H1-B, when I was 29 or 30.

Looks like you were not required to register: https://www.sss.gov/register/immigrants/ "Non-immigrant men living in the United States on a valid visa are not required to register for as long as they remain on a valid visa up until they turn 26."

As long as your F1 NIV was current when you turned 26 it should not be an issue.  You should be able to show the timeline of your visas to prove you were not required to register.

Good Luck!

Selective service rule only applies to some under the age of 31. IF over 31 yrs when u go for the interview USCIS will not ask u about the Selective Service registration. I'm in the same boat I check it. I have attached a letter which is signed by director of SSS

1- If you had a non immigrant visa (i.e F1) up to the age of 26 then you do not have to prove anything. The interview letter is generic so it includes that but you don't have to bring anything.

2-Even if you had an immigrant visa between ages 18 to 26 and didn't register, but are now over 31 then the 5 years statute of limitations for good moral character would have been passed so that wouldn't be an issue either.

Either way case 1 applies to you.
