I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with obtaining a police certificate from Hong Kong (from abroad)?

 

The HK police state they will only send the certificate to "the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority".

 

  • Should this be sent to the NVC or to the embassy where I would be undertaking my interview (in my case Dublin)? I've tried to get in touch with both but I haven't heard back yet – they're understandably busy.
  • Either way I am assuming I should upload the receipt along with an explanation as to why the cert itself is missing? 
  • If I need to send it to the embassy, the only letter I have is my email from the NVC. Do I need anything from the embassy to state that they require it? Or did anyone just send a copy of their email along with the address of the relevant embassy?

 

Any advice from someone who has gone through the process would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had to do this for my fiance. This was for Philippines but the instructions from HK would not differ.

Just be sure to follow instructions to the letter and be sure the fingerprint card is "stamped with an official police seal" or in some way verifies that it was done by the police department that took the fingerprints.

The CoNCC will be sent to the Embassy where you do the interview as HK will not send anything to you, although you can request that they inform you that it was sent.
