Does two years of meeting fiance start when the application was mailed, delivered, or from the date of the NOA 1?

I last met my fiance in person starting December 5-9 2018, and from that date on I have evidence in my petition. I mailed the petition on 11/19/20 and FedEx says it was delivered on 11/20/20. I have yet to receive a Notice of Action 1 in any form (no text, email, or letter, nor have they withdrawn my check from my banking account). I'm concerned that my evidence of meeting won't be counted if my NOA is after December 9. Does anyone know if the two years deadline counts from the date you mailed it, the date it was received, or the date of the NOA 1?

Thanks!

I would think that filing date is the date you filed it (put the date next to the signature and sent it off). However, that's just my opinion, maybe it's not correct, it just makes sense to me. That being said, right now it's a normal occurrence for NOA1 to take 4-6 weeks to come. So you are cutting it pretty close. I think you just need to wait and see. At this point that's the only option. Best of luck!

The 2 year meeting requirement is prior to your filing.  So if you last met in 12/5/2018, you had until 12/5/2020 to file for your fiance visa.  Otherwise you do not meet the requirement and petition will be denied.

As long as your received date is prior to 12/5/2020, it does not matter how long it takes to receive NOA1.  Sometimes it takes up to 30 days to get it.
