My fiancee called the US embassy at Moscow because she has not received the package, they told her that the forms can be found in the internet and there is a form in Russian that she can fill it in the day of the interview: DS-156K. I pulled out this form in English and In the DS-156K section 5 it required the following documents:

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS "MUST" BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR FIANCE(E) NONINMIGRANT VISA.

* Your Birth Certificate

* Birth Certificate of all children

* Death Certifcate of spouse (if any)

* Marriage Certficate (if any)

* Divorce Decree (if any)

* Police Certificates

* Evidence of engagement to your fiance(e)

* Evidence of financial support

Here is my question: if my fiancee was married before but divorce now and she has the divorce decree (original, translate and notarized), does she still needs the prior marriage certificate?

Does anyone that has been to the process already (who has a prior marriage and divorce), do they really required the prior marriage certificate or "just" the actual divorce decree from prior marriage?

Please help!!

Thanks,

Luis

The marriage cert they are talking about is the one in K-3 or CR-1 visa cases if you were married and the visa is a spousal one not fiancee. Consider the checklist is a general purpose list and is used with all the marriage based visas (K-1, K-3, CR-1, or IR-1)

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
