Good night people. I have a few questions pertaining to the k1 visa. The NVC has sent everything to the JA embassy over a week ago. The last email I’ve received was from the NVC letting me of this. I’ve checked my status on ceac... & my application went from “transit” to “ready”.. I want to know what can i do from here? I’ve been reading different situations ...

1. How long does the JA embassy take to send out the documents or email me letting me know what steps to take?

2. Is my fiancé able to complete the DS -160 without receiving documents from the JA embassy? Therefore fees are able to get paid. ( I have my case & invoice #).

3. What else can be complete without the documentation from the JA embassy, on both my Fiancé & my end?

4. Also, due to covid is it mandatory for me to travel from the US to attend the interview with my Fiancé in JA? I’ve heard if spouses aren’t present you have to reschedule to interview. Are they making any exceptions...

Sorry for all the questions, feel free to add any information you think I may need. Thank you all in advance!!

(I posted this late last/early this morning, in the wrong group... hopefully I’m in the right place now)

1. How long does the JA embassy take to send out the documents or email me letting me know what steps to take? Sorry, I can't answer that question.

2. Is my fiancé able to complete the DS -160 without receiving documents from the JA embassy? Therefore fees are able to get paid. ( I have my case & invoice #). Don't mix the two up, the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and the application fee for the interview. They only fee is the application fee for the interview $265.00 currently. You can complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application now if you like.

3. What else can be complete without the documentation from the JA embassy, on both my Fiancé & my end? There is nothing else you can complete. The petitioner can gather the documents to substantiate the I-134, Affidavit of Support that you will need for the interview.

4. Also, due to covid is it mandatory for me to travel from the US to attend the interview with my Fiancé in JA? I’ve heard if spouses aren’t present you have to reschedule to interview. Are they making any exceptions... There is no requirement that the petitioner needs to be at the interview. Some embassies will not even let them into the facility. I attended my wife's interview in the Philippines, but I was in country anyway, was good for moral support and she appreciated me being there. Personal choice. Check with the embassy website for visitation requirements.

Sorry for all the questions, feel free to add any information you think I may need. Thank you all in advance!!
