I know now I am almost at the end of the tunnel but my concern now when I applied for the passport they took my original naturalization certificate not a copy !!!! documents always get lost in the mail

Hopefully they don't lose your naturalization certificate. If they did, file this: https://www.uscis.gov/n-565

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

It occurs to me that if 7 years 8 weeks is “most of your life” (thread title) you are probably too young to be anyone’s spouse.

It may be most of what is left in my life

8 weeks or even more for the passport.

No different to how long it takes for a US-born citizen to receive a passport.  Join the club.

OP: everyone's just trying to help you put it into perspective. The wonderful news is that you're a US citizen! This is really the most important part. You are done done done with USCIS forever if you wish, and aren't going to petition anyone to join you. Getting a passport is a pain even in non-weird times, and these are super weird times. You have moved past the "UGH USCIS" phase and into "UGH US bureaucracy" phase all of us USCs get to enjoy. :) :P

I catch myself complaining about things that in the grand scheme of things are less painful than what others go through. I was married over six weeks ago and I'm still waiting on our marriage certificate. Until we get that, we can't file his AOS, and this is making me really irritable. However, he's here, I'm married to him now, and he came on a work visa so we don't have to worry about waiting for an EAD or AP for him to work and travel. I remind myself of these things and it helps me keep a positive perspective. I am ahead in the game already!

As are you. You have the citizenship which is the CRUCIAL thing here. A passport will allow you to travel outside of the US and provide ID, but that's it. Citizenship gives you so many more rights and privileges than that. You'll have the passport any day now, and this will all be past very, very soon. :)

May be when I receive the passport in hand and my naturalization certificate in the other hand I will calm down . Now I don't have anything to prove I am a Citizen, I couldn't update my social security because they need the original copy of my Naturalization certificate which I may have it back after 2 month.

are you separated for 7 years? I don't think so.

What was your main goal, to be with your partner or to have documents?

I was not separated for 7 years , I said the process too 7 years starting from applying for immigrant visa to obtaining green card to applying for naturalization etc.....

Isn't there a fee to get your passport faster ? In maybe 7 days or less ? I think I read something about the need to travel.

Yes I paid $60 to expedite it  it will take 4 to 8 weeks
