Well, I do feel bad that he has to learn the consequences of not wearing a mask and social distancing. But honestly I am only surprised that it took this long for him to get it. Everyone at that hearing this week potentially will need to quarantine/isolate and get tested now. Happy Christmas for all.

Well I am not a Admin or a Mod so no. But you could have used the tweet to justify the title.

What do you gain out of calling it the China virus? It won't let me go into the office Monday, let me pop by my parents when I want, allow me to fly to Cancun, or have the family over for Christmas. I still will not be hanging with my friends at the Bistro on Tuesdays, kids won't be the classroom and people will still be saying hi to mom and dad through a window. 2-3k people a day will still contract the virus and face a potential horrific death by suffocating or potential side effects for years. 

 

If you feel better calling it the China Virus, go ahead.

I would have as a dig at Guiliani.... I am going into the office tomorrow, my 2nd grader is going to school tomorrow, my cousin actually just got back from Cancun and a friend is in Montego Bay right now.

It's probably because I spent a long time on the phone this morning with my mom. My aunt has COVID.  She has been very, very good for months and months, and she let her guard down exactly one time. That was the time she chose to have Thanksgiving dinner with her daughter and son-in-law, the ones who don't wear masks. She wore a mask and socially distanced except when they were eating, then obviously they had their masks off. Turns out my cousin and her husband had COVID and were asymptomatic. My aunt luckily is going to make it but my mom was both beside herself and absolutely furious: with her sister for trusting her daughter and for letting herself think it might not happen. As my mom said to me, it's not like going on a diet, and you're good for months and months and you lose 20 lbs so you let yourself have a glorious cheat day before going back to being on the diet. The worst that will happen is you might put a pound or two on, and then you're back in the saddle. If you're good for months and months in dealing with COVID, and you let your guard down just one time, you can still get COVID and it's not like putting a mask on the day after will stop you from getting sick after the fact. I'm very sad my aunt has learned the consequences. She's going to be fine and is resting at home now but we've all had a great scare. 

 

Me, I'm mostly mad at my cousin. This isn't the first time she's put her mother at risk.

If you were in certain positions of power, you could do all these things regardless of what it is called.
