So there s no benefit for upgradation, and stay on F2a as normal, isn’t it?

Yes, there is a benefit, you get ahead of F2A, you just don’t get ahead of other IRS that were in line ahead of you already. Again, F2A visas are  BANNED right now, none have been issued since March, how long do you think that line is now?
And again, you do not have the option to stay on F2A anyway. The change to IR is automatic. But your wife does need to update NVC because they are not Big Brother who automatically know what each of 360m US residents is doing at any point in time.

Hi. I am waiting for an interview letter... My wife was on green card when  my case was complete at NVC. But now she is USC. My question is should we st8ll upgrade from F2A to IR1 while we wait for interview letter

Turns out this is incorrect and OP’s wife is actually still awaiting her N400 interview next month, as explained to me in PM. Put out here in the interests of accuracy because as we know if the underlying information is wrong the advice often is too. In this case it doesn’t matter as there is no option in whether or not to change to IR.

Thanks for the clarification.

So since the F2A backlogs are expected to be long, odds are the petitioner would naturalize before visa issuance and the visa classification must then change to IR-1.

Huh????  We find this on page 3 of this thread?   Knowing the facts would have reduced the thread to one reply...... "But now she is USC"  steered this way off course.
