Btw, I went back and looked at my shopping gift list for this year. A hoodie I got for my dad, was original price $50, knocked down to $20 so I thought that a good deal. Even those ugly sweater Baby Yoda sweatshirts are selling for $49. Of course I'm not one that likes to pay enormous prices for things (except for shoes).

Looks like a Barber? Which I used to wear in the UK but not sure they would work here.

I have been looking at Barbours, coincidentally, as I have been excessively coveting my sister-in-law's while she's been visiting. I think they would make a good coat for here, but I don't know what it would be like to have a new one. Every time I've worn one it's been someone else's ancient one, totally smelly and well-worn, while I'm over on a visit. Country houses seem to breed slightly moldy and dog-scented Barbours, in my experience.

I remember looking some time back and they seemed big bucks, perhaps they now have a Chelsea Tractor connotation?

 

They are not warm and we do not get much moisture.

The one I want is about $400. Since winters here are more wet (occasionally) than cold, it suits pretty well thrown over a sweater for an extra layer. Also good for winter beach walks. I have a grand total of two coats, one mackintosh and one serious winter one for going to visit family in New England. I do like my mac, but it would be lovely to have something a little more casual.

 

And yes, it is a silly amount of money, I am very aware.
