Hi everyone,

I'm currently stuck on my immigration process. I recently went to the my local (Halifax, NS) police station and asked for a certified criminal record check. The form they made me sign is the Vulnerable Sector Verification, I got my fingerprints scanned. On the form the woman wrote "Privacy Act" under the reason even though I told her "RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings". She wouldn't let me fill it out, only sign my name, because of COVID, and I'm wondering where exactly I'm going wrong here???

The 3rd form is the form I was given in person for reference: http://www.aces.ednet.ns.ca/sites/default/files/Criminal%20Check.pdf

I recently got the RCMP certificate in the mail. NVC rejected the document tonight and this is the second time; the first time was just the basic CRC which I found out was not the right document on here. Looking at the CEAC and RCMP website, it looks as if I did everything right. The woman at the police station was hurried and rude and said she knew what she was doing (since I certainly don't). I saw on this site some people's record has "CMP PPU 030". That's on the top corner of the form I filled out, but it's not on my certificate, which only has a "DOCID" and "DCN" number on the top right corner.

It says:
"No personal information about you was found in the National Repository of Criminal Records"
"Type of Criminal record check: For Active Criminal Record"

Any help would be much much appreciated, I'm at a total loss here and it's so discouraging :( I'm going to call the police station tomorrow and see if anyone can help me, but no one has been answering the non-urgent phone line in days and I'd rather not go in if I don't have to.

There’s a new form as of Nov 1st. Check out the tab for 2020/2021 RCMP update.

Thank you so much for this!! When I called NVC the lady I spoke with said she'll send it to her supervisor to either accept it or give more detail as to why it was rejected, because the only things she sees different is that it says "For personal use" instead of "privacy act". Even my police station didn't understand why and said they'll call Ottawa and get back to me Monday. I feel so relieved, thanks so much!! I'll try calling NVC back (hopefully not another 3h wait time) and let them know about this so they don't try to reject it again!

Just another question if you know; all of my other documents are approved, once this one is approved do I have to wait a few more months before my interview date while they review everything, or is it once all my documents are approved will I be assigned one right away?

Thanks again!

So I called back, the second lady I spoke to just now was a lot less friendly. She said that they are not aware of this change and that my document does not match the sheet they have and it needs to. She redirected me to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html and although I told her I followed those steps exactly and that my cerificated is just an updated version, she said it won't be accepted until it matches what they have. :(

My clearance looks exactly like the one shown in the 2019 rcmp tab. It was accepted at the nvc and the interview. We got it from Commissionaires.

after your documents are approved at the nvc, your case will be documentarily qualified and then you’re in line for an interview. Right now Montreal is working on Jan to mid March DQ. The link I posted has a spreadsheet with all the VJ members waiting for their interview.

check out the regional Canada forum on vj for more info.

the clearance with the personal use and for active criminal check is the correct one. Maybe upload a screenshot of what it says in the tab or ask if you can email the nvc about this.

Thank you. I tried and I don't think it will let me "submit documents" until I fix the rejected police certificate. The first lady said not to delete it since she sent it to her supervisor, so I think I'll have to wait until that's done. Hopefully not too long 😕
