ok I have a passport issue

Second post today...wow I am on a roll lol

I have an issue. While packing all of our documents to get ready to go to Canada tomorrow I discovered I don't know where my passport is. I have my birth certificate and green card but no passport. Am I going to have a problem?

No we are driving and leave in the morning. The kids and husband have their passports but mine is nowhere to be found....we have turned the house upside down!

take lots of ID though.. Birth certificate, citizenship card, health, driver's etc..

wait, I remember in your previous post you said you have your green card, right?

As of January 23, 2007, Canadian citizens will need their Passport or other accepted document (a document that establishes your identity and nationality) for all air travel to the United States.

the last two times I went to Canada.. I just showed them my green card and they were happy with that.... I went by land both times.... the same was for on the way back, I just showed the green card....

You should be fine getting into Canada with your greencard but technically you should also bring proof of your citizenship, such as your birth certificate, citizenship cert. or passport. Now, I'm not sure if you will require your passport with your greencard to return to the US though????

The GC will be fine for your return to the US.

Thank you!! I searched until 1 am and did not find it! I figured I would probably be ok but as with everything else (immigration) I would prefer to have too much rather than not enough.

I guess I need to report it lost and get a new one in my married name.
