Good day all,

I had a k1visa interview on the 7th May 2019 and I was refused . I keep check status of my application and haven't seen any update since August  last year (2019). Later, the ministry of foreign Affairs in my country send the consular section a Note verbal letter on my behalf.  today i check and i found out that the last update of my case was 20-November-2020, what does it mean for this case update status? is it, the USCIS start working on my application again or any others? Appreciate with your kindly answers.

Thanks,

It means someone opened a file...that is all it means......where is your case?  Was it returned to USCIS?  I would contact the consulate and find the actual status?  It could have expired by now.

I don't know if it was returned to USCIS. My fiancee hasn't got any letter from either embassy or uscis yet... Is almost 2 years now i thought the case is closed but  i found out that the last update of my case was 20-November-2020. Does it mean that my case is still open?

No.

In your other post you said you have now filed for a spousal visa. So if you are married now, it doesn't even matter what happens to the K-1.

Yes I'm married but i want to know if they are still working on the k1 because the ministry of foreign affairs sent them a Note verbal to consider and grant me the visa. So i don't know if they gone back to my case again or not. My fiancee has not got notice from uscis shows that our case is expired. Is almost 2 years now.

If you are married, she is not your fiancée anymore. And they can not grant the K-1 visa even if it has not expired, because you are already married.

Doesn’t matter whether they are or they aren’t. You are not eligible for a K-1 anyway.

Contact the embassy and tell them you are married. That will close the K-1 case and you can stop looking at it online and wondering what’s going on.

Why did you marry if you are still pursuing the K-1?   And, unfortunately, no other country’s ministry of foreign affairs can “make” the US department of state give anyone a visa.
