Are you suggesting that we follow Flynn's  advice: declare martial law, overturn the election and suspend our civil liberties and then debate whether those ideas are fascist? Because by that point 1. You will be living under fascism and 2. You won't have anything to say about it, you don't have a bill of rights.

Top military officials have already said they won't be a party to anything even resembling a coup, so if Trump were to order it, he'd have a hell of a time enforcing it.

I believe I did, but believe what you want.  Here, I condemn his rhetoric, just as I condemn the dangerous rhetoric of AOC, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and President Trump.  If you have noticed, I have not been defending his actions with respect to the election fraud, and I have been on the record multiple times saying he needs to get off Twitter (for that matter, everyone needs to can Twitter).   Btw, I am still waiting for you to condemn the destructive/terrorist actions of Antifa and BLM, or the dangerous socialist rhetoric of the prominent Democrats?

 

Lastly, you made the assertion that Flynn's rhetoric is being seriously considered.  What is your source for that as the OP piece you posted did not say that?

That anyone takes this seriously is just another example of the hyperbole around how this President is treated by the traditional MSM.  Does he bring some of this on himself, sure, he is a fighter and when he is attacked he fights back, but he goes too far with his NYC attitude many times.  He has said he will leave the WH when the EC confirms the election in 11 days, and the Joe/Harris transition is happening.  All the caterwauling about Joe needing to start his transition based on the call by the MSM and even before several key states had not certified their respective elections just fuels the narrative created in the media.  Trump will land on his feet, but I am sure there will be a lot of folks still crying and pearl clutching until he is either put in jail of executed.

Trump has been treated no worse than any other President by the media. Trump trying to convince you otherwise doesn't make it so. When the president acts like a complete jackass, the media covering that doesn't make it unfair treatment. When the media asks (and yeah, sometimes demands) answers, it's not unfair treatment. That's their job, that's what they're there for. There's no secret cabal of media loyalists who gathered in some smokey room and decided that every network, every magazine, and every streaming service would just start treating this president unfairly. It's absurd on the face of it.

 

The "caterwauling" about the transition is because every president in history has immediately begun the transition when the election was called. Trump's behavior has been completely contrary to that tradition. Don't act like this is just business as usual that the media are hyping because it's Trump. Defend Trump's "right" to do it if you want, but it's unprecedented and people and the media responded in kind.

 

wrt to Flynn's ridiculous comments, I haven't heard or read that Trump is considering marshal law, but based on his erratic behavior it wouldn't exactly surprise me. Still, Trump is a coward by nature. If I were to place a bet, I don't think even he would try to double down that hard.
