So here I go, filed my N400 online on december 25th, 2020 and so far I only got the NOA letter. I am still waiting for the biometrics. I am really annoyed this process is taking longer than what it used to take. If they are going to reuse the biometrics they should inform people a week after and not make them wait for 8 months.

My interview / test is tomorrow. Wish me luck! what did everyone bring to the interview. The letter gave me a list, but wondering if I need anything else.

N-400 Citizenship

Date mail out application: December 11th 2020

Date received application: December 22nd 2020

NOA1: January 14th 2021 

Fee Waiver: Approved 

Biometrics Reuse Letter: February 12th 2021

Yay!  Best of luck!  

 

As for what to bring, I would definitely go by the list they sent, and maybe somebody else has more tips.  I’m sure you’ll be fine though.  And like Snorkel378 said, please come back and let us know how it went :)

Hi @Oksana2@@ Thank you for posting the shared Google spreadsheet. I cannot write in the sheet. How can I contribute to the timeline document? We filed our N-400 in December 2020 as well. 

 

Further, does any one know if we can file an "Outside Normal Processing Time" inquiry about our case? I see that many of you Dec 2020 filers have received interviews and even got case approved (congrats). We haven't heard anything other than a waiver for biometrics (in February 2021).

I unfortunately don’t know how to unlock the document, so I can’t help you with that.  Sorry…  Hopefully somebody more knowledgeable can help here. 
 

As for being outside normal processing times, that depends on the field office.  I see that you’re in the same jurisdiction I am in (Washington DC field office), which currently has processing times of 10.5 - 17 months for N400.  Only once the “higher” number of months have elapsed can you file an inquiry.  USCIS has a processing times tool somewhere where every field office also lists dates from when on our you can file an inquiry.  Sadly, this is quite a while away for us, and even though USCIS says that it generally processes cases in the order it receives them, it still seems to be luck of the draw…

More than half of us still don't have interview dates, don't worry it's normal. Especially for my area (SF in CA).
