Wait time from Documentarily Qualified by NVC to receiving an interview date

I'm the spouse of a USC, I became Documentarily Qualified on August 11, 2020. It's been almost 4 months and I still haven't head anything from the NVC. We tried expediting but they gave us a canned response, not approving it. I have 3 questions:

1.- What is other peoples experiences with this wait time? How long was it for you? Or if you're still waiting, how long have you been waiting so far?

2.- My interview is with the US Consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador, but in the NVC Expedite denial email, they wrote this: "To be fair to all applicants, the Department of State schedules immigrant visa interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC."... Does this mean that our case is not "in line" at the embassy, but rather "in line" at the NVC?  Which would mean the embassy hasn't even received our case yet?

3.- Can I do anything to speed this up? It's extremely stressful to be stuck in this limbo with my wife away from me. It's obvious the USCIS and NVC don't care about the well being of legal immigrants.

1.  Wait times are very long since March...world wide.

2.  It sounds like your case is not being expedited. Your case will remain at NVC until the interview is scheduled.  NVC will schedule your interview after the consulate has informed them of available dates and your case is at the front of the queue for that consulate.  Cases are not sent to the consulate until after NVC has scheduled the interview.

3.  No.  You have to wait like all the others in front of you.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

As i just posted the backlog of those in AP is finally starting to progress and Guayaquil had 5 CR1 and 61 IR1 approvals done in October so things are starting to move and hopefully the wait will not be that much longer

there is nothing you can do at this point for the interview itself/ you are DQ and are in line for your interview

but you can make sure you have the IRS transcripts and copies of them to the immigrant plus any other documents listed on that embassy site

check your embassy stats on following site

Unforunately if you go to the portal site for Ecuador there are no visa interviews scheduled for VJ members posted

i would check the embassy site to see if the hold is still on for new interviews'

During normal times i would say the USC should make a new visit but with all that is happening in Ecuador during this covid crisis all you can do is wait

Even my father in law,  a doctor ,   got hit with this virus and guayaquil according to my family there is still in bad shape as so many died

1. I became documentarily qualified on 13 June 2020 and have been waiting since. It will be our FIRST wedding anniversary this 19th Dec that we will have to spend being apart from each other.

We sent an email to the NVC and received the same canned response.  I completely understand how you must be feeling.

2. Yes, your documents are still with NVC. They will be sent to your local embassy once the Embassy confirms nvc with their available slots and once its your turn in the sequence.

3. Unfortunately no, unless there is an emergency like death etc. We sent a letter to the secretary of the state and received a response that due to COVID19 they are working with limited staff and have alot of backlog to sort out. In short,  nothing can be done to expedite it.

I pray you get yours soon! All the best.
