Hello.

I'm really a November filer as I filed 30th November 2020, but it was stuck in transit for weeks! It was finally delivered on 26th December! My green card expires January 22nd as does my driving license. I can't tell you how stressed I was and still am. I know it's been the holidays so not expecting anything anytime soon. It's just glad it was delivered. How long is the wait time to recieve something back? I'm worried about renewing my driving license as it expires the same day.

Whenever you get your NOA - 12/26 will be the notice date listed.

However - your file and fee won't be processed until sometime in February because there is a 6-8 week backlog based on my extensive research on this subject.

The license renewal is a real issue - but not sure if there is any alternative as we await.

FWIW - the transit issues were ridiculous and very stressful! But it got there and that's important!!

Don't stress - there is literally nothing you can do except for wait.

I did asked a similar question but was told no passport picture or birth certificate is required (No idea about military) .

Correct.

The reason is because USCIS does biometrics - hence, they don't need passport size photos.

The military - yes - if you are stationed overseas, then there is description for submission for photographs.

Yes, that's what my husband says. He is so laid back. I'm the worrier!

Yeah. Ive just read their statement they listed on January 8th on the uscis website about the delays. Im glad they finally posted a statement.

Yep. I tracked the package and it said "delivered on December 26th". It really is an issue. My husband is going to have to drive me to work and pick me up until I can renew my driving license. 😩🥺  thank you for your reply. It's in God's hands now. All I can do is wait.

I understand.

Only after my research - and getting objective and real life experiences - I am "calm".

The people whose applications reached 11/25 are getting their checks enchased now! - so, we have a ways to go!

BTW - can you send the link for the USCIS website update you mentioned was placed on 1/8

Yes. I really need to relax. I drove myself ill over it all. I've always been a worrier so this didn't help at all.

Yes, of course. I spotted it in the November filers forum!

https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-lockbox-updates

Yes, I saw they were getting theirs. Maybe I have another 4 or so weeks left to wait. :)

Ty!

Also if you filed  Form G-1145 - great

But if not - no worries either - because many people are seeing their $ taken before any text/email! LOL!

Its natural to worry/stress - this is immigration!

Hey, Everyone!

Filed December 6th and no news as of yet. I have a question what has probably been answered 1000 times on here but I need full clarification. If we do not receive the letter before the Conditional GC expires, what do I use as proof? Do I need to submit any paperwork to my employer? What do I carry instead of my GC? Any info is great.

Thanks!

Hey all!

We mailed our package on 12/22, was delivered in Phoenix on 12/23. No notices thus far, card hasn't been charged. Our window opened Dec. 5/2020, but things got a little backlogged in our lives. Funny, I've been mentally preparing to file this for two years and when the window finally opens, we're behind schedule.

Good luck everyone, hoping for quick updates on all fronts!

Glad to join this thread!

Sent the file on 12/15 via USPS and thanks to COVID19 and delays - was delivered on 12/29.

Based on all I have read - there is a 6-8 week wait from delivery date to encashment of the application fee!!

 :)

Hi ya. I’m Canadian as well. I filed and it was delivered in phone on 12/23 as well. My Chequers hasn’t been cashed yet either. I just booked an appointment to renew DL as it must be down at branch

Hey EmCamp, I am on the same boat with you. Application delivered on December 10th, no word since then. And clock is ticking to Conditional GC expiration on early February.

I found this thread, this might be helpful:

November filers' checks are being cashed (Up until 11/29 filer). So I am hopeful we should see some December action happening soon. But I am planning to give a call to USCIS next week, and will try to schedule an InfoPass appointment to get I-551 stamp at my passport. I believe that will prove permanent residency for a year.
With this stamp I am hoping to

  • Renew driver's license (Every state is different, Pennsylvania accepts this stamp as proof of immigration status). You can check your state's policy.
      ==> PA DL fact sheet: https://www.dot.state.pa.us/public/dvspubsforms/bdl/bdl publications/pub 195nc.pdf
  • Try to explain HR that I-551 stamp is good enough for keeping my job :) Even i am not %100 sure

Note that when your GC expires, you will need to provide both Expired GC and the I-551 stamp.

Following this thread to see if folks have any other suggestion, or information IF we won't get NOA before the Conditional GC expires.

I called USCIS to schedule info pass appointment, they didn't receive my application yet, and without application/receipt number it's impossible to get info pass appointment .

My husband is in the same boat and we're in PA. His green card expired 12/21. He can't get an info pass for stamp without confirmation lockbox has received his packet. He is without a DL, so now has a 2 he commute on public transport to work each way. And he can't do 50% of his job once there cause he cant operate the vehicle.

Uscis is stating that it is taking 4-6 weeks (and sometimes up to 10 weeks) to get the extension letter.

USCIS needs to get it together and allow all applications to be done electronically. Then we get a confirmation right then to prove submission. This is utter bullshit and they could care less. As long as the get the $$$, we don't matter.

Our window opens Dec. 27, but I've already pulled together most of our application (what else am I going to do while we're stuck inside during a pandemic?). Considering how backed up USCIS is in even cashing the checks from the November filers, is anyone considering mailing in their application a little early? When they say it has to be within the 90-day window, will they measure from when the application is post-marked, or when they actually pick it up?

Any luck yet. Mine was delivered Dec 23 in Phoenix. My DL Expires mid March. Added stress .ughhh
