A source familiar with what happened told CNN that Atlas turned in his resignation letter to President Donald Trump on Monday. As a special government employee, Atlas had a 130-day window in which he could serve and that window was technically coming to a close this week.

Okay, but what he proposed with herd immunity is still dopey. Even the conservative Hoover institute is said to not want him back.

Why? He was getting that from Sweden. Which I thought that country is what you Liberals want the USA to emulate right?

  No, conservatives were citing Sweden as an example of herd immunity in action, ostensibly so we could avoid the protocols in place for reducing transmission and keep everything going as if there was no pandemic. Unfortunately the premise was wrong. To achieve herd immunity naturally, the majority of the population has to contract the virus and recover. For that to happen with Covid, a large number of people will also have to die. Even Sweden doesn't want to do it Sweden's way any more.
