Hello :)

Who knows if I can travel to the US using my tourist visa after being DQed?

Appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Lots of info in that thread, but my husband DQ'd in September and we decided to buy a ticket for him to visit the US in October. He traveled with his tourist visa and was honest at immigration when he arrived saying he was visiting his wife who he had not seen in months and awaiting his interview date. Important note that he is not working in the US or abroad, strictly visiting. My take is that if you are honest and do not plan to stay on the tourist visa it's fine! We were nervous but the immigration agent was friendly and wished him luck with his green card. He has stayed for a couple of months but will be returning for his interview in January.

I checked our status on the visa status check link: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

Yesterday it showed "in transit" and today it shows "ready".

So pumped to be moving along!

Hubby's medical is scheduled for 30 Dec.

Looks like thing are moving along nicely, so great that you'll be done with the process by this time next month!

Hi! Is your case expedite or regular? I’m waiting for an interview too in Abu Dhabi, DQ 20 Oct.

Regular. As far as we know they just started moving on the regular cases after a long gap.

My DQ was 21 May, and I know a few other people with May and June DQs that have gotten interview dates. So you might have to wait a little till they get to October.

Ah thats very good to know! We just received an odd email from NVC saying the interview had been cancelled, but we were never assigned an interview date to begin with...wondering if that means something is in the works in their system that will move the case soon to the embassy? Any idea? Sorry for all the questions, I've just noticed you're quite knowledgeable 🙂

Hi @IAQ we also received this same email , we are not sure what it is , when we called NVC they said it was just a system glitch and and it has nothing to do with case transfer or expedite.

Have you heard anything ?

Ah I was going to call as well, but expected a similar answer to be honest. We have not heard anything or seen any movement in the case since. Although I have seen other posts from other embassy threads saying they received a similar email then their case was sent to embassy and scheduled for interview like a week later. Not sure if there is any relation to whats happening here or coincidence. Our case was transferred from AD embassy to Dublin about two days before we received that email. I just assumed the glitch had to do with the transferring of the embassies.

AD has started scheduling interviews though finally. May and June DQ dates seem to have been scheduled in January. Hope this helps.

Yes normally it happens when embassy approves an expedite and case is transferred from NVC to Embassy but in this case we both transferred our case from one embassy to another , I requested to transfer my case from  Pakistan to UAE , but it was long time ago and may be the embassy started working now so now they are changing our interview locations in their system and that thing caused this notification.

Thank you , hopefully I will get IL interview letter by the end of next month.

What about you , Dublin embassy started Interviews as well ?

No you are fine. Congratulations on getting the interview. Almost done. Report back when done.

Had our interview today and we’re approved! Finally...

They said the visa should be issued before new year but how do we know when the visa is ready for pickup at 2go?
