Hello, did anyone for the K1 visa process need to get a Certificate of Non impediment to marriage before going to their K1 interview? Did they ask for it at the embassy?

specifically for Jamaica?
My fiancé and I both have never been married ... do we need this?

I have not seen this as a needed document on the multiple sites that  I’ve been on and I’m now I’m seeing that it may be needed .

The resident of Jamaica that is immigrating will need to take this to the interview.  This information is included in the Packet 3 information that should have been e-mailed to you prior to you scheduling your K-1 Interview.  Without it, your case will not be approved.

They need to go to RGD and get the document.

JA Embassy operates differently than other Embassies, not following the guidelines of Jamaica will be an automatic denial.  If you have questions, ask in the Carribbean Forum for JA, or other JA members.

Here is our Section for JA Embassy:  https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Jamaica&cty=Kingstone
