My EAD C09 category expire 5th of next month, i sent my package to renew it early October, i recieved recipt for 3 month Extension but the status still remain fee were waived. How long does it takes this day?

Wow three months extension ?  I never heard of three months extension, well, we sent for renewal in September,  but we used the old forms and they sent the package back, and we resent it again about six weeks ago, never get receipt yet, my EAD already expired last October. How long it takes you to get the receipt?  Renewal usually takes about two to three months.

Hello everyone, I submitted my VAWA application in November 2018.
Received my EAC by December 2018.
Renewed my EAC by December 2019.

By May 2020, I relocated to a different state before submitting a change of address through USCIS. I received an email notice that a notice was sent to my old address with 30 days to reply. I immediately contacted USCIS about the move and submitted a change of address form via mail. My new address has been updated but I never received that initial notice. I’ve sent two letters to USCIS asking them to resend that letter. It’s been almost 8 months waiting but I’ve received prema-facie and other letters sent to my new address. I even received a new EAC in December 2020 at my new address.

Wondering what the deal is with USCIS and why they didn’t resend that latter. I’m curious to know what it is.

Has anyone encountered this situation?

To add something on what Ana FL said, I believe the letter is about RFE, I think you should just send them a police clearance and see what they will say, you should still contact your congressman for help.

Thank you. I’ll try to obtain police clearance from my current state of residence since I no longer live in TX. It’s super strange that they’ve sent everything else to my bee address except this letter. Curious to know what the RFE is for. I sent two letters by mail explaining the situation and pleading that they resend. It’s been silence for 8 months. Mmmm

Hi everyone 😊 I have a question related to “after getting your greencard” period :) I just got mine couple months ago.

Do we need to go and apply for an original SSN card after getting the greencard? Because I think I will go and apply for an original SSN card this week.

I was just reading something yesterday and I see there are 3 different types of SSN cards and the one I have (and I assume everyone who doesn’t have their greencard yet) is the restricted one that says “valid for work only with DHS authorization “

Sure you should go apply for the one without restriction! You are eligible for it. Ever since I got my green card, I've been nonchalant and unmotivated about getting my unrestricted Social Security card! I only just went to apply for my real ID driver's license which is good for 8 years! Before I got my green card I couldn't wait to get these things done  but now I just take it easy.. I guess such is life!💁

I just didn’t really know there are different categories. I’m unemployed and have lots of time 🙈 I was reading this “Welcome to the United States - A Guide for New Immigrants” pdf last night and then I realized this SSN card situation.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-618.pdf

My Real ID driving license is good for another 2 years. I don’t feel the rush for that one 🙈

Another question since we are chatting about these 😊...do you carry your Greencard with you all the time?
