Is there any impact of duration of marriage on greencard interview outcome? I have lived only 18 days with my abuser but he put me through extreme mental, racial and physical abuse and threatened-humiliated me almost everyday with deportation and calling police on me, my VAWA got approved because I submitted very strong evidences.

My interview earlier was scheduled on 19th January is now cancelled and it will get rescheduled later on. If interview officer raise any questions about why such a short time I spent with my ex? These days I am getting worried about about this question a lot. If I could have been asked with such question then should I have to explain what exactly happened in those 18 days and afterwards when i left his place? Can anyone guide me on this matter? does anyone had such question faced during interview? looking forward for some suggestion which helps to relieve my stress😥

Hey, I hope I'll be able to relieve your anxiety a bit - this definitely sounds like enough to prove good faith marriage. Include everything you wrote here and add some affidavits from friends/family saying they know you as a real couple (notarized).

Thank you somuch for the response. It helped. I have been able to leave finally.  I won't lie this isnthe second time. I forgave him in and went back in 2019. I hope I remain strong this time . Thank you somuch again

You lived 18 days with your spouse.. your VAWA was adjudicated and approved.. this means that the officer at Vermont did NOT have a problem with the brevity of just 18 days! it is not the place of the officer (at the local office) who's going to interview you for the adjustment of status, to re-adjudicate your i-360.. you did not plan to live with your spouse for just 18 days.. you were abused and hence left.. the officer  should have enough sense/training to know this but if not you can remind him of these words!💁

Thank you dear for quick reply, still I am a bit lost. Can you please explain "the officer  should have enough sense/training to know this but if not you can remind him of these words" little more ?

Did you mean to say, officer shouldn't ask such question, or if he can ask only thing based on i-485 form?

I-485 form has time duration/length which I spent with my abuser, that's the reason I am asking it and really worried about how to answer because in that case I need to go through the full details of what kind of abuse I have been gone through those days.

I know it's hard now, but this is great news and the start of your new life! Good luck with your application. Stay strong and remember - these people don't change, you deserve better.

I'm just saying in other words that your I-360 has been approved if there were any questions or doubts, Vermont would have been the ones to come for you not the officer at your local office also what I mean is that the officers are trained on the dynamics of this petition so they are expected to know how it goes and the complexities that comes with each case! Rest easy girl!😊👍

Maybe this one will help.. there have been cases of people who lived only two days with their abusers and were approved.. you really do not have anything to worry about! One of the requirements for this petition is to have lived with your abuser.. they never specified length of time.. so if you lived for a 18 days why you worried  girl?💁and you are approved!😏

There seems to be a few different addresses for NBC..I found this: National Benefits Center, P.O Box 648003 Lee's Summit, MO 64002. You should by all means verify before sending it out and also I would think your local office would be an appropriate place... for me, I will send it out to all of them ( NBC and local office) because they're messy as hell!😀

Sometimes the truth doesn't sound nice but it must be said regardless!😏

That said, I would like to encourage you Apollo to tell your friend if she's been abused she should file for i360 it will only get worse if she tries to hold on... these people do not change!💁

That happened with my ex the abusers always has bipolar disorder they use their estatus to controls the situation the best thing is apply for vawa and leave that toxic relationship because at the end you can not trust abusers

Good evening VJ Family, i want to apologizes for my stupid question but can someone tell what kind a questions do IO ask when you attend your AOS interview based on approved VAWA, just want to be able to prepare myself, and my second question will be; is the AOS Interview different when is based on a I-485 and when is based under approved VAWA. The second question is for a friend of mine she doesn't know what to do and wants to know whats the difference she is being mentally abused.

Thank you.

I think you need to talk to a counselor about your current anxiety and stressors.
