@Stillwinning!!!😊I am having same issue with my lawyer he asked for 600 for renewal, I know I can renew it myself but can I use the lawyers address since I still don't have a place of my own

You should not use your attorney address  if he is not representing you , unless the attorney allows you  to use his/her address. Use any of your friend’s address .

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a few weird updates on my case.

January 2020 -- VAWA approved. Since I still had my entire marriage case package pending after VAWA approval they sent my documents to NYC (where the marriage case was registered) instead of Houston (where I actually live). 9.5 months later my case was finally in Houston.

August 2020 - applied for C31 EAD renewal. Currently I have both C31 EAD and C09. And today I got a case update on my old C09 renewal application from a year ago for the card that is about to expire that they updated my fingerprint info and it's in the initial review. And it's wrong receipt and not even the category I applied for. Very curious to see what's going to happen next... Pretty much prepared for anything. Maybe they will print me a GC by mistake? Lol

Let's hope they do just that! Waiting to celebrate with you dear!😊🌠🌠🌠🎊🎉

Does changing address automatically make case transfer to local office ?

USCIS can be messy but if they update your address then your case will move to the local office of the updated address if not it will remain in the previous local office! So always make sure that your address is updated to avoid surprises or disappointment rather!💁

Just so I understand your question very well if your case isn't in the local office in the first place the mere act of updating your address will not send it to the local office if that's what you mean! The only way it can be transferred to your updated local office address is if it is already in the local office of your old address I hope it's clear now to avoid any ambiguity!😊👍

I VAWA was Approved in Oct 2020 and still my i-485 says As of September 28, 2018, fingerprints relating to your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

How can make my case transfer from VSC to local address which is in dallas Texas. The lawyer kept CA address while file which the address at that time.

This is how mine went... my vawa was approved March 2019 and then the i485 was transferred to the local office June 2019 so I think you should be patient it's not automatic and also sometimes they transfer it without updating you, but you're still within the normal timeframe okay just give it some more time. You can also inquire through your congressman!👍
