Do you need to be a green card holder to get this position?  USCIS will not expedite your I-485 interview, the only thing they expedite sometimes is the work permit.

Did you submit the I-765 along with your I-485? IF yes then you don't need to pay USCIS fees to renew your  EAD.

Yes i will have to have a valid GC by the time of the appointment. That means in the next 3-4 months

Are you close to interview timeline based on your FO? Hopefully you get your gc before your start date. However since there is no option to expedite interview, can you try to convince your employer to temporarily allow you to work on EAD until you become a PR? Maybe share your I-485 receipt notice? Just thinking out loud what options you may have.

No, you don't have to pay and you do not have to ask for a fee waiver. (c)(9) EAD initial and renewal applications are free if you paid the initial I-485 fee.

You send:

1. I-765

2. I-131, if you want advance parole (similarly free with pending I-485)

3. Copy front and back of previous EAD

4. Copy of I-485 receipt notice

to

USCIS Vermont Service Center

75 Lower Welden Street

St. Albans, VT 05479-0001

Also, I will add that the I-765 receipt notice will extend your EAD (but not advance parole) for 180 days as long as the I-765 was timely filed, i.e. while the previous EAD was still valid. So you don't have to sweat too hard about it expiring while the I-765 renewal is pending.

Hello all !Is it normal to receive a request for initial evidence even after receiving a courtesy letter 2 weeks before? What could that be? I thought they will send me an interview notice at this point. (Checked my uscis case status and they sent it today. I'm nervous)

Chances are that they will RFE you for medicals, which means that they waived your interview.

Hi! Sorry I am working so many hours I haven't had time to sit down the details of my timeline coz I will have to check my file but if it will help I applied December 2018 and now waiting for that paper notice from USCIS for the exact interview date. So hopefully I will have my interview this month and get it over and done with. New start for my new year hopefully 🤞🤞🤞

Good morning my VAWA family I just wanted to share my interview experience:

My interview time was 9am, I arrived at 8:45. Just 9am in the morning the officer called me, she seems to be very nice, she asked me about my attorney and interpreter, I said they’ll be by phone. She asked me my id and passport and took copies of them, then she asked me basic questions, she corrected 3 question in the form. At some point she kind of get pissed with the interpreter because was not translating every word (the officer speaks Spanish). The officer told me that my English was very good and I told her that I just wanted to make sure I understand everything because of nervous. She asked me the NO and Yes question ( she had a very strong looking at me, but I did Eyes contact all the time. The interview just took around 25 min...

then she said “ ok, we corrected 3 questions in the form, please sign here and you should have our decision  Mail to this address in the next few days”

Is this normal? Based on your experience? How long it would take to have the decision? 😭😭😭😭 this wait is endless!!!!!!

thank you in advance

Congratulations for your interview, you will have your greencard now in a week most probably.

Which one is your interview field office? Which city?
