  - I filed I360 in November 2019.

  - Filed I485 / I765/ I131 in February 2020. got EAD approval in june 2020 (after amending from C31 to C9, and requesting expedited processing)

My attorney submitted "out of normal processing time" electronic request to USCIS online on 1/25/21. yesterday update on my USCIS site showed this:

@sandranj do you have any advice in this matter? I need to attend my sister's wedding in my country.

Divorced US citizen spouse in December 2017.

Filed I-360 on Nov 12, 2019

Filed I485/ C31 EAD / AP in Feb 2020 (Stupid lawyer filed C31 instead of C9, and I didnt know EAD codes, didnt know about this VJ forum either)

On H1b status since 2014, H1b 6 years expired in May 2020. Out of status / Period of authorized stay since then.

Amended EAD petition to C9 and filed expedite request for same in mid-may 2020.

C9 EAD approved June 4, 2020.

Biometrics done in Oct 2020.

I485 case transferred to NBC for "faster processing" on September 30, 2020

Filed C9 EAD / AP Renewal petition in February 2021.

Initial Advance Parole (from Feb 2020 application) approved in June 2021.

C31 EAD production update - Nov 1st, 2021.

C31 card delivered to attorney's office on Nov 8, 2021.

I-360 case approved status update - Nov 22, 2021.

No RFE throughout.

Senator's office confirmed via congressional inquiry that the St. Louis office has received the I485 file and is currently awaiting interview scheduling - March 7, 2022

C9 EAD renewal card production case update - July 20, 2022 (took them just 17 months to process)

C9 EAD / AP renewal approval case update on both cases on July 21, 2022.

Combo card delivered to attorney's office on July 27, 2022

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

@Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj And ho else  can help.

I received the RFE to do my son's medical exams in August 2020. (he is 4 years old) but it seems that he also needs a medical exam and I will do it tomorrow.

I've checked with my Congressmen and my case has been in the Local Office since September 2020.

My question is whether I can send this exam to my Local office or can I send it to Vermont?

To see if the date of the interview is speeded up.

I thank you for your time and attention to us all.❤️

Do a Google search of who your congressman is get in contact with them they will send you a privacy release form which you will fill out and send back to them they will inquire on your behalf to USCIS!👍

hi, I know that after vawa gets approved, my case gets transferred to my local office. After vawa approval, when I check case processing times for I-485 for my local office, does the processing time given there start when the case arrives at the local office AFTER vawa approval?, OR when I FIRST submitted my case? I submitted altogether (I-485, I-131, I-360), and my ex spouse is a citizen. thank you

you might done this already, but have you checked your EAD? normally, they approve EAD 09 together with advanced parole and it's the same card. based on your notes, it also looks like AP was approved

Good Afternoon ,

I am preparing my documents to refile my I-485 again  based on approved I-360. I am sharing the documents to check if I missed anything in the list  :

1. Form I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864 Waiver , medical report I-693,

2. Supporting Documents : I-360 approval letter, 2 photos , Copy of passport, birth-certificate, id card , I-94, marriage certificate and divorce certificate .

Besides that I have few questions

1. I do not have any criminal record like felony or arrest  . Do I need to get police clearance from my current  place  ? I contacted to the police station . They said they take 3 months to process it and mail it because of Corona .  Need a possible solution as I want to apply I-485 faster .

2. Should I use the Alien number in any form ? My previous I -485 is denied . So I am not sure if the  alien number is valid or not  .

3. And will I go through the biometric again as I am gonna refile I-485 ?

4. Should I include any information like reason about previous denial ?

Thanks everyone .

1. Maybe try to get FBI? Mine took under a month (pre-pandemic). It will work for all the states.

2. Yes A number stays the same forever like SSN.

3. Not sure but I am guessing yes.

4. Not sure but I am guessing no. Ask lawyers about that.

Dear friends

As I mentioned in my previous post that I had  saw such a tough time I am here in USA for the last 7 years and I never travelled back to my home country first in the month of November 2020 my sister passed away and then with 17 days time my father passed away Ie December 2020 and since my parole is pending I didn’t travel to my country.

Further to add here that  my  VAWA is already approved I got the RFE for I-693  Ie for Medical 2 days before so hopefully when I submitted the same the USCIS will approve the green  card without interview.

so I have a question that since my attorney is preparing the form I-693 so her name will be there in the column that she is the prepares and then the civil surgeon will sign the same and give me the seal copy so that I can submit it to the USCIS field office.
