I did not file I-485 twice . I only filed I-485 when I filed I-130 .

Now days it could take more than 8 weeks to get a renewal receipt, the last time I sent my EAD renewal is in mid December 2020, I first sent it in mid September, and they sent it back, and I sent it back again, roughly six weeks now, and no receipt, but no worries,  we gonna get it.

I did not use lawyer for this entire process. I used this forum to get all the information required to file my case .

I don't know that either . He just asked me question fromI-485 like name , address , parents name , last entry , yes and no questions about history . And lastly, I told him I have a divorce document if you need that copy. He said yes . That's all . 

 

I believe he should know about he is taking the interview based on I-360. Right ?

Background: She applied for AOS but received just receipts.

 

She will apply for VAWA, then once will get I-360, She will send mail to USCIS VSC with letter and I-485, 765, and I131 receipts, requesting to hold her case based on VAWA. 

Q. If she will not receive her AP before she gets her I-360, does she need to send new application of AP to VSC?

Q.2. Do USCIS let her know they have approved or rejected her 485 hold request?

Thank you Ana for help, Sorry there are too many posts about it. She can not afford attorney so I am helping her. 

USCIS will inform  just in person, if the person has an interview date, if they will hold or not the I-485, not by mail.If she has a pending I-485  she should NOT FILE A NEW I-485.If she submitted a request to obtain  advance parole then she should not refile a new one either.

Yes it's different the timeline because VAWA is just adjudicated in Vermont.

You can file VAWA  abroad if you can prove that you left the U.S to escape violence at home.The tourist visa is for people that want to  VISIT the Country as a TOURIST, it's not your case. You may enter, but you might have your VAWA denied based on "willfully  misrepresentation of the facts".

He denied the I-130 and because of  this he/she denied the  I-485, but  the I130 was replaced by  the I-360. It seems the officer screwed up. Post here when you get the letter ok.

You had one I-485 pending when you went to the interview. You don't have a pending I-485 now because the officer denied your AOS.

Hi everyone! I just got an update on my I-485: “Case Transferred to another office”. How long in average does it take to get an interview notice by mail after case was transferred? I’m in NYC.

 

 

My timeline:

November 9th, 2017: VAWA I-360 was received.

December 18th, 2019: I responded to a RFE of good moral character, and I sent notarized letters from 12 different friends.

January 16, 2020: C31 Work permit was being produced.

June 25, 2020: I-360 was approved

October 22, 2020: USCIS received my I-485, I-765 and I-131

November 17, 2020: Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken

January 28, 2021: Case was transferred to another office

He asked me Yes/No questions, nothing else. He only asked me to show my passport, original marriage certificate and and original birth certificate. Nothing else.

 

He then said the lawyer made a mistake by filing two I-485s (one was filed based on marriage and one based on VAWA). The lawyer filed it before I found this forum, so I basically had two pending I-485s. He said he will deny the marriage-based one. He also said that I should receive the card in 2 to 4 weeks. He didn't say the word "Approved" and only mentioned receiving the card by mail.

 

He then wrote a note in my passport with my alien number, status of I-485 (pending), and class of admission.

 

So far, I saw the status of the old I-485 online (case denied) but nothing for the VAWA-based I-485 today

You should get your green card within 10/15 days.

Hi @sandranj , Yea . that  I was thinking . That why the officer denied both I-130 and I-485 while I-360 is approved . I will post here as soon as I get the mail. Thanks.
