Hi Friends! So for my interview this week I'm trying to prep any possible papers they may request, and I remembered that a few years ago when I worked as a bartender I got a few tickets under my name for some stupid reasons like not enough fire exitsΒ at the bar I worked at etc. I went to court with a lawyer and they all got dismissed right away. So when an officer asks if I ever received citations I would have to say yes, after that could they possibly ask for proof of those being dismissed? It was NYC, I've been trying to check online, but can't seem to find anything under my name, might be looking in the wrong place.

The question relates to having a criminal or misdemeanor charges or traffic tickets. If your tickets were dismissed, then they are not misdemeanor chargers or criminal chargers. Like my attorney told me, answer questions that are asked and not to offer information not asked of you. If you’re asked then feel free to explain, but I’d check with my attorney.Β

Hi . Please can you explain further. I have an ead that would soon expire. I met a lawyer on Monday and she said i have to file another one and pay 1260k, please if you can explain very well how you were able to do it? I am really trying to save because I will have to get my own place in Houston plus do lots of paper work. So should the lawyer write uscis to apply the pending i485 to my vawa case so in that way I don't pay another fee?

Please don’t pay to renew your EAD, it’s so easy and these people just want your money. You already have an EAD and it took me 5 mins to complete my renewal. Save that $1260 for something else.

Hi guys, how long it takes to get renewal receipt this days? Thanks in advanceΒ

I received one in about 2 weeks and my card like 2 months later. It could be up to a month to receive your notice.Β

When was that?.ThanksΒ

This was last year. I renewed every EAD myself before Green card and #2 and #3 took 2-3 months to get card and 2 weeks for notice.

Thanks for responding. Do you know ifΒ I can get it online or from a different state? It was in NY, I now live in TX.

I doubt that you can get online, but you have to check with them ok.

Hi dear . God bless you for responding. My i485 is active and i have ead. I filed it with my spouse. So if my lawyer mails the office. Will they keep renewing my ead

hi Angelmia!

I might be mistaken, but even if you ask them to hold your i485, you still have to apply separately every time you need the extension of your EAD. Your lawyer can help with that, bit they will probably charge you extra money for their services.Β

hey dear,

when you renewed your EAD, was it under VAWA? was it c31? and if so, did you have to pay a renewal fee to USCIS, around $400?

I never renewed C31 because I had C09 EAD and didn’t pay any additional fees. The fee I paid during my initial I-485 covers EAD C09 renewals, you just need to include a copy of your I-485 with your renewal package.Β

Usually C9 renewals are free with the pending I-485 but theΒ C31 renewals have to be paid for.πŸ‘
