In terms of fashion, forget kilts for now and bring back the codpiece.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well, ya know whatever floats her boat. If she's looking for whatever she defines as a man, I think it'd be a good idea to look in the right places and not on the pages of magazines filled with celebrities that also don't matter. The rest of us can shrug and not really care if Harry wants to wear a dress or if she wants to have a good ol' fashioned conniption because of it. I highly doubt that wearing trousers affects her feminism or sexuality so I tend to think it's more a cry for attention as always. A woman should not be threatened by Harry Styles in a dress, if she is, I think that says something more about her. I hope she works it out eventually.

Meanwhile we can all enjoy and appreciate men that have been wearing that have been wearing "skirt and dress" style clothing... since.. well...

Its ok because Jamie Frazier is the ultimate bad *** he man. My best friend (female) is infatuated with him. Has watched every epsiode many times and a member of his fan club. Has even gotten texts from him

Is it any good? I've put off watching it. My Netflix queue is getting very long. My mom, my sister, her boyfriend and my sister in law have all laid into me for not prioritizing Queen's Gambit over getting completely caught up on The Crown. Apparently I had promised we would watch QG but Alex fell asleep during episode 1, so I started up watching The Crown. Big mistake, now I am treated like a philistine by my own family. Alex got off the hook for some reason.

Well yes, but there are many many other ultimate hot men that wear kilts.

I have a love-hate relationship with the show. The books are... long and the prose not exactly the best. The show is much better in that respect, but I am often troubled by the reliant emphasis of how 'rapey' this show can be. It was generally the same way with GOT, with Outlander being a sort of 'answer' to that, in a kind of 'proper' way to handle historical violence against women.. but it falls into the same trappings of often being gratuitous and downright torture porn. There are also times I really, well and truly want to smack Claire upside the head for her outright stupidity and pigheadedness. Sam is great as Jamie and well.... he is quite the hunk isn't he? It is great though, you'd likely enjoy it and even the husband has taken interest.

We did not enjoy this season of the Crown. A lot of it was not accurate. The costumes were also not quite right, which is saying a lot because I once went to an exhibition of the costumes and was severely disappointed at their poor construction! Meaning, they look good for cleverly edited TV, but clearly they are rushed on a tight budget and it shows when it's staring you in the face. Outlander exhibits I've been to have superior costume construction, even though I was laughing my butt off at season 2's red dress.

Haven't seen Queen's Gambit yet.

Have you been following people getting all bent out of shape about how it needs to be made clearer it's a drama, not a documentary? Lol.

It's silly... what the show gets right is that Charles really is the bad guy in most of it. He was a horrible husband, a horrible human being, and I hope not but he might still be I don't know? It was easy for the show to lure people into sympathy in the previous seasons, by forming the narrative that he was refused the right to marry the person he actually cared about. It's even more still hilarious that they weren't allowed to marry until 2005! But that is truly no excuse for his behavior. My main issue about the show's accuracy is that this is now more recent history, and they are not conveying how bad things really were for some people in the 80s, how truly hated Thatcher was/still is, and the first episode seemed like they would be focusing on critical moments involving the IRA and eventually the GFA. Instead barely a word. I liked the Fagan episode, but the guy (who is still alive) was used as a meaningful prop as if he broke in to have a heart-to-heart with the Queen about society's ills. Instead, the truth is not that glamorous and they got it very wrong. The royals are always going to bristle against anything that puts them in a negative light - but the truth is I think what the show describes may actually be worse in real life.

Okay, now my therapist is dragging me for not watching Queen's Gambit yet. It's like there's a syndicate enforcing watching or something.
