Candace Owens Dragged for Calling Harry Styles’ Vogue Cover ‘Attack’ on ‘Manly Men’

Conservative commentator Candace Owens is facing down Twitter wrath after saying Harry Styles’ groundbreaking Vogue cover is an “outright attack” on “manly men” in American society.

 

“There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men,” she wrote on Twitter in response to a tweet from Vogue promoting the Styles interview.

 

On the cover, which was the first one ever to feature a man by himself, Styles wore a Gucci dress. The tweet that prompted Owens’ criticism used this quote from his accompanying interview: “There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes. I’ve never thought too much about what it means–it just becomes this extended part of creating something.”

He was in One Direction, a boy band. I was too old for them, so don't worry if you don't know about them. I'm just aware of them because it was a boy band full of some very nice looking guys who were way too young for me! He's got a very successful solo career now and was in the movie Dunkirk.

Hotness is kind of a holistic thing, in my opinion. It has to do with your character as well as your physical attributes. I think Candace Owens is an attractive woman but I think she's not a very good person. Just my thoughts on it.

I try not to make vast sweeping generalizations about classes of people, personally.

 

I don't think she's a good person because she lies, and because of her notoriety those lies are amplified. She also shows little humility, which I see as one of the most important virtues a person can have, particularly as they become more powerful. 

 

Ultimately it matters little what I think of her. I don't like her, and I don't need to.
