TB skin test?

Is everyone who came over on a K1 getting a RFE for the TB SKIN test or just some people? We're sending my AOS off next month - Ive had the vaccination suppliment done etc by the CS but I assumed that because i had the medical in April that I wouldnt need to get tested for TB again. Now, I keep seeing people who are getting RFEs for TB Skin tests AND the actual medical again. I think it's terrible that they are losing peoples medicals and demanding them to pay for another one! Anyway, as I'm about to take a college course within the health field, I'm required to have a TB skin test and a physical done. I want to go on the airforce base to get this done as it will not be alot of money at all as i will be a military spouse. The problem is that immigration wont recognize the test done by the airforce because they are not on the CS list. Do you think I'll get a RFE for the skin test? Hope that makes sense!!

You HAVE to use one of their CS. no way around that.

Are you sure the tb skin test was part of your original medical? CUz they've added a few more things to the medical list recently

plus, if they're telling you to do it, you have no way around that either.. you just have to

The losing of medicals is completely absurd and infuriating, I agree. I was in DC when I found out mine was lost and I very seriously almost marched up to the White House to find someone to yell at Anyways, all you can do is be sure you submit everything they have asked for and have a plan in place of where you will go and what you will do should they send you an RFE for any medical stuff. Researching on VJ as to what others did is always helpful so that way you will know what to do RFE's really aren't as scary as people make them out to be, IMHO, because if you research and pay attention you will already know how to respond to them, and once you respond usually everything is just fine

Sometimes people receive RFEs for lost or misplaced medicals... if the medical remains lost (after going for an infopass appointment) those people have to get an entire new medical (not just a new tb test).

Don't worry about an RFE that you haven't received yet

Get the skin test done. I had my AOS interview today and had my medical exam done in Germany. My GC got approved but I need to have my TB skin test done. Had I known that the standards have changed prior to my interview, I would have had that test result with me already!

I'd also been wondering about this and based on Magnolia's experience at the interview today, I'm going to get mine done prior to my interview next month. They may not ask for it but I'd rather have it ready for them if they ask.

My husband also had the medical done and we have copies of it, but I am trying to figure out if it has to be a USCIS doctor that he must see regarding the TB skin test.

I am also trying to figure out if you can file without the skin test (in an effort to avoid the rate increase) and just bring the results in for your interview

They told me today that it has to be a civil surgeon. I think you'll be alright taking the skin test results with you to the interview. I mean, alot of people are unaware that they even need to have this done now.
