Sorry for the second post. I was wondering how many of us June filers are seeing more trouble in our relationships. Mine seems to be getting worse. I just bought tickets to come and see her at the end of the month. I hope this helps. I will only be there for eleven days. Better then not at all I guess.

My fiancee and I communicate by phone 3 times per week. We talk online usually the same days we also talk. I am also working 3rd shift and she is working 1st and our off days mismatch. So we have a hard time sometimes to speak. If it was our choice we'd talk everyday by phone.

We talk 4-5 hours a day through skype. We argue mostly about talking too much. I work full time and have 2 kids so sometimes it is hard. I am still very thankful for skype (voip)

We talk online each day for hours. I'm glad she has that flexibility at work. We also call each other on the phone every day though not for hours.

Everyone with high phone bills needs to use some kind of voice over ip like yahoo or msn or skype. I have found even if it is used an an internet shop it saves a lot of money. Espesally those of us june filers that have fiance's in the Philippines. :)

Ok, we can probably get a new thread going on how to communicate since we are all in it for the obvious longer haul. Be sure to get a web cam for your computer and your fiance. I now subscribe to the international phone plan for my home and cell phone. Its great for the cell phone for a quicky call when the webcam is not convienient. I learned early in this long distance thing that phone cards are too expensive. Adriana is in Brazil and we have success using free services such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and CamFrog.com. She couldn't get Skype to work on her computer unfortunately. Oh yes, if you subscribe to an international plan for your cell phone, be sure to call your service provider here in the states to get directions on dialing once you get to where ever your going and ask how to call there locally and how to call back to the states from there too. And be sure to update your roaming software on your phone before leaving the US too. Call your cell phone service provider for all that from the airport before getting on the plane. Anyone else out there using some other way for Internet communications I didn't mention here?

Charles

June 8 they revieved it

June 18 '07 check cashed got WAC#

No NOA1, touches, or progress given

NOA2 approved Oct 17

NOA2 card copy in mail Oct 20 (Surprise to us)

Package sent from USCIS to NVC Nov 7. (called USCIS to get this)

Nov 15, I got email at 6:57pm that our package was sent to Rio from NVC.

DON"T WAIT FOR THEM TO SEND ANYTHING, CALL AND MAKE SURE THEY GOT IT.

IF THEY DO, GO AHEAD AND SEND IN ds230,ds2001, the pics, and copy of passport

USE SEDEX AND GET THE TRACKING NUMBER.

Interview Set: Jan 29. Found this out on the embassy website under VISA's. It shows a list of visa types including K1 and shows the interview dates.

Visa granted but they mailed it using their own package delivery service. Took a week. Have money when you go to the appointment. They may also make you go and get more photos taken if they dont like the pics you bring. Just relax and dress wark because they keep the place really cold. Make sure your financials mmet the criteria or they will eat you alive.

MARRIED March 22. Sent in $1,010 in fees to Chicago to get change of status, apply for advanced parole, and ability to work documentation. Things work faster now.

May 22'08: Biometrics appointment in Santa Barbara.

I buy real cheap phone cards on the internet. I can call Russia for about 3.5 cents/minutes. The link is www.trycards.com

I have been using enjoyprepaid, for some time now! The rate to call Colombia is 3 cents / minute. Here is the link.

The great thing about this internet based calling card is that they keep records of all your calls, and with an e-mail request you can obtain the records! This is great information and often requested at the interview.

Online calling is cheapest for sure because its free. But you both have to have internet and a computer. Internet cafe's are a good place too for video web cam so you can at least see each other.

You guys are lucky! I have to pay $2.50 a minute to talk to my fiancee and sometimes I have to dial for an hour before I get thru and the line is pretty bad. No internet access for us, no access allowed in Cuba for it's citizens, no chats, voip nor e-mail.... So as you can imagine I am more than anxious for my NOA2 ASAP....
