Everyone's helpfulness is gratifying and appreciated. I'm having a dickens of a time with this site technically. I tried to upload a photo (allegedly successfully), but I don't see it. I see no way to get my "chronology of events" to appear in the small blue type beneath my messages, or even to create a chronology. (Is this information lifted from the formal "timeline" somehow? Are we supposed to type and format it manually?) I have surfed for over an hour, and there seems to be NO technical help for such things anywhere on this site, or else it's well-hidden.

Other: I told my fiancee that our package was transferred by the TSC to the CSC, and she freaked: "Cant not be like that!!!...California!!!...I knew somebody who made papers in California and it took so long!!!....thatt not a good idea carino." I have tried to settle her down, perhaps successfully, but I fear that this is only "the tip of the bureaucracy."

If you want to upload a photo to show in the sidebar of your posts then you have to pick the upload avatar option from 'My Controls'. The chronology of events that you see for many people's posts are typed in by them as a signature, also an option from 'My Controls'. The photo's are uploaded into some kind of album that should be accessible from the my photo's link near the my timeline link.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

If you click on 'my controls' at the top of tha page you will be into your control panel for the site.

To upload a picture, click on 'change personal photo' on the left hand side. Click the 'browse' button to upload a picture from your computer and then click on upload. To get a picture that shows up on your posts, click on 'Edit Avatar Settings' which is also on the left hand side of the screen. Again, click on browse, next to where it says upload and image from your computer. (Or you can use the ones that VJ already have uploaded on the site) After you have done this, click on update avatar.

To get your signature to show up like mine and many others, click on 'Edit Signature' (Again, this is located on the left hand side) You can add all of your info in the box below, you can also change the font size, colour etc... :) Just make sure you click on 'update my signature' when you are done :D

Anything else you need help with, don't hesitate to ask. There is always someone about to help!

Good luck :D

Hi all,

I think I messed up my last post (it was my first).

We mailed our petition on 6/7. It was received @ Texas where check was cashed on 6/18, then sent to Calif. To date we have no hard copy of NOA1 but we have receipt # dated 6/18.

We hope to be home together in Florida @ Christmas, but recognize that January is more likely. Optimism is a good thing.

Good luck to all.

Multiple helpful responses are appreciated! Thanks. I could not find a photo small enough to qualify for uploading, but let's see if my newly created "timeline" signature appears. If it does not, I'll need even more advice! -- TBone

If you got online banking you may be able to see the "franking" of the check which UCSIS posted on the back of your check. The back of the image of the check should show your Receipt Number (I have WaMu and was able to view the receipt). Look for anything with 3 letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC) and then set of numbers that follows. If you cant see the check online you can always call your bank and get the receipt number from the back. I checked on the UCSIS website and viewed status based upon this franked number and it worked like a charm, and was in fact the receipt number. This saved me 1 week of waiting for the hard copy of the Receipt number.

Good luck.
