This is my first post here. I filed at the TSC on May 31. The green postal receipt card was stamped June 5. My check was cashed in mid-June sometime. No NOA1 has reached me, and the toll-free "customer disservice" line is totally useless and infuriating. Questions:

1. If there is a WAC number on the back of the check, how do I use it to search the status of my case?

2. WHY weren't people notified that applications sent to the TSC would go to the CSC?

3. What is the backlog at CSC? Why have I received no NOA1? When can I expect one?

4. What are some details regarding timelines for applications involving Ecuadorians?

5. Is there a REAL phone number at a REAL processing center where someone could help me?

Thanks.

TBoneTX

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hey TBone,

Dont feel alone, myself and aloto of others have not received squat from CSC. If you have the WAC# from your check, from this website you can lookup your case status thought it wont tell you more than you already know at this point. At the top of this webpage click on processing times and you will see a link taking you to the case search component. type in the WAC#. Then after you read the dribble, be sure to sign up for the auto email notification. Supposedly they send you emails when the bar code on your package is scanned. But before you do that, call them early in the am at this #800-375-5283 and hit these prompt through the system, 1,2,2,4,2,1. Hopefully you get through to a person. At least that is what I hear from other VJ members. If that doesn't work to your satisfaction, call 603-334-0700 and hit 1, then 5 for an operator. Play dumb and tell them you dont even have a number for your case and see what they tell you. If they cant help you then pretend you just found it and then give to them. Their federal government employees so it should easy to pull a Jedi mind trick on them so ask them lots of questions before you get into the WAC# deal. Good luck.

June 8 they revieved it

June 18 '07 check cashed got WAC#

No NOA1, touches, or progress given

NOA2 approved Oct 17

NOA2 card copy in mail Oct 20 (Surprise to us)

Package sent from USCIS to NVC Nov 7. (called USCIS to get this)

Nov 15, I got email at 6:57pm that our package was sent to Rio from NVC.

DON"T WAIT FOR THEM TO SEND ANYTHING, CALL AND MAKE SURE THEY GOT IT.

IF THEY DO, GO AHEAD AND SEND IN ds230,ds2001, the pics, and copy of passport

USE SEDEX AND GET THE TRACKING NUMBER.

Interview Set: Jan 29. Found this out on the embassy website under VISA's. It shows a list of visa types including K1 and shows the interview dates.

Visa granted but they mailed it using their own package delivery service. Took a week. Have money when you go to the appointment. They may also make you go and get more photos taken if they dont like the pics you bring. Just relax and dress wark because they keep the place really cold. Make sure your financials mmet the criteria or they will eat you alive.

MARRIED March 22. Sent in $1,010 in fees to Chicago to get change of status, apply for advanced parole, and ability to work documentation. Things work faster now.

May 22'08: Biometrics appointment in Santa Barbara.

Hi TBone - so you can go to the site www.uscis.gov and search for your case number using that WAC number on the check. It'll tell you the latest updates supposedly, but it's also kind of depressing to see that they haven't touched your file in forever!

As far as details on timelines for Ecuadorian fiances - it seems there really aren't a whole lot who peruse this site. You can hit the "immigration timeline" link at the top of the VisaJourney website, then under "visa display options" select "view K1 visas." Once you have that screen up you can select at the bottom of the page to show only timelines for beneficiaries from Ecuador. Then you can get an idea of how long people have been waiting recently, although it's not all that helpful because it seems some people never finish filling in their timelines. It seems to me that we should expect the process from start to finish to take at least 6 months ( ) You should also make sure to fill out your timeline - then it will give you an estimated adjudication date for your petition based on statistics from VisaJourney. This is a very rough estimate I think, and it changes as people add their information. For information on the interview process at the consulate in Guayaquil, you can look under reviews of embassies at the top of the page, however it is entered incorrectly as being in Quito.

We have very similar dates I think - I sent my petition in to the NSC on June 4, with my check being cashed mid-June as well. I'm excited to see another Ecuadorian June filer. Let me know if I can help you with any questions, though I'm not that knowledgeable - I have just looked around this website a ton.

Sarah

Thank you very much, Sarah -- we're apparently partners in equal "hurry up & wait" status! Apologies for taking up your (and everyone's) bandwidth with functional questions, but... how do I fill in my timeline? I have tried to begin, but I seem only to gain access to other people's timelines.

I did manage to reach someone decent at the toll-free USCIS line; he connected me with an immigration officer who told me my WAC number (!!!) and confirmed that my petition was received by the CSC on June 11. The officer said that confirmation of receipt would reach me "very soon" (the SCs have 30 days from date of receipt of a petition package), and he even put in a special request to the CSC for me. He said that the general time frame was indeed 6 months, and he stated that there is NOTHING in particular holding up or speeding up packages for Ecuadorians or anyone else. Processing is strictly by date of receipt.

Our I-129F package was mailed out May 31st.

CSC cashed cheque/issued receipt number June 7th. (The receipt # is the NOA1, right?)

Twiddling our thumbs waiting the six-eight months it'll supposedly take till I set foot in the USA with my K1 Visa.

We hired a lawyer, I wonder if that delays our petition any? The lawyer said we will prolly be approved by Christmas, if not before. Her exact words: "...if not before..." That's comforting...innit?

Mods: I posted the above in the May Filers thread, but I should really be a June filer since the countdown starts from when the CSC receives my I-129F packet. So this is crossposted and I can't delete the post in the May Filers' thread. Thank you.

Everyone's helpfulness is gratifying and appreciated. I'm having a dickens of a time with this site technically. I tried to upload a photo (allegedly successfully), but I don't see it. I see no way to get my "chronology of events" to appear in the small blue type beneath my messages, or even to create a chronology. (Is this information lifted from the formal "timeline" somehow? Are we supposed to type and format it manually?) I have surfed for over an hour, and there seems to be NO technical help for such things anywhere on this site, or else it's well-hidden.

Other: I told my fiancee that our package was transferred by the TSC to the CSC, and she freaked: "Cant not be like that!!!...California!!!...I knew somebody who made papers in California and it took so long!!!....thatt not a good idea carino." I have tried to settle her down, perhaps successfully, but I fear that this is only "the tip of the bureaucracy."

Timeline

Well its been a full month and no sign of any cashed check. I called the USCIS and they said "it takes 45 days before you will get a receipt number" I told them about all the people on visajourney that fill out timelines and that most people get their check cashed in about 10 days. He told me it was false information (Yeah right). He tried to tell me that noone gets a receipt number that soon. Since my check hasnt been cashed yet, our names are nowhere to be found in the system... Would they set my unopened package on a desk somewhere or what?
