Congratulations!!
I believe the process has been really slow, has anyone seen the status change from “At NVC” to “In Transit”, it’s been more than 40 days and our status has not changed ... 😰😰😰

Thanks!

YES definitely a slow process. It has been 8 days since we got the embassy letter, but there are no available slots for the interview. It is really frustrating 😫

how does the  NVC and  the local Embassy  communicate regarding the case? Is it usually by email? If by email, are the emails sent only to beneficiary or to both petitioner and beneficiary? As a petitioner i want to be promptly updated of all of communication and also because my fiancé is very busy and doesn't check her emails regularly.

Did you get your slots for the interview ?
I think the process has slowed down very much!

maybe some transitions going on in the office with the new administration maybe ?
it’s going to be 3 months next week since we got our petition approved and yet our case is “At NVC” status still.
has anyone seen some movement or same like me ?

We're at the medical exam and interview stage. It's moving slowly for us because my fiance works everyday 8-8 and only has 2 day off a month. Working them into the schedule has been troublesome but we have our interview scheduled for 3/14!

Yes, and when they answer my calls at the embassy only feedback I get it ,” Wait till you get an email with further instructions”

That’s it ! 😢

I guess will have to just wait and nothing else I can do now. It will be 3 months tomorrow ☹️

Hello everyone,

Maybe you can provide me with more info @Greenbaum because I really feel stuck about with what's going on at the moment, and I don't know if there is a thread pertaining to the current affairs with immigration, but I would like some guidance please.

I called NVC about a week ago and was made aware that the embassy in The Netherlands was not processing K-1 visas at this time.

I have confirmed through their website that it is set to Emergency Only Appointments.

Should I go ahead and complete FL-160?

I try to check my case through CEAC and am unable to, it states the case number is invalid.

I plan on contacting NVC again with more specific questions, but I really don't know what I can ask at this time as I was already told the embassy is the one not accepting the applications.

My fiancé has e-mailed his embassy and we are waiting on a reply from that end.

What can I do at this moment? Will the wait possibly affect the case? I was told they will hold onto it at NVC, but will it expire?

Is there a thread pertaining to the Schengen Area and immigration/travel?

I understand my questions are many, and I appreciate any answers from the group.

It is getting to be so difficult but I still have hope.

Thank you.

Hello,

when you are checking your case online at CEAC.state.gov, you must select an "immigrant visa". All you can do is wait for NVC to send your case to your embassy.

Thank you so very much, I went ahead and reread the PDF file, I think due to my nervousness about the whole thing I wasn't really putting two and two together on a lot.

I have to remember to take a deep breath sometimes and work it one by one.

I checked my case using immigrant visa and it is showing as invalid, the PDF tells me to submit the DS-160 (I mistyped FL-160 on the previous post).

I did call NVC and receive the case number, so that is something.

We will wait on the embassy's response, we already e-mailed them so we shall see what happens.

Meanwhile we wait, we will both work on the DS-160.

Something that is troubling is how a few people are receiving visas but unable to travel due to the current Proclamations and travel restrictions.

Is there a petition that has started in order to have the government look this over?

Spouses are able to travel back to their families, but it is bizarre that people who are looking to travel to become spouses of a US Citizen are unable to do so.

I'm sorry I tagged you on the previous post @Greenbaum. :(

I did take a look at the thread more carefully, and the PDF is invaluable, I just had to clear my head and re-read it.

You have been an invaluable source of wisdom in these matters, and the current status of immigration and travel probably has us all... wonky.

At least me, for sure.

I appreciate you for your quick reply @Antonina. :)

So I just received our case number (had to call them to get it). What do I do now? I was told that the embassy in Nairobi was not processing visas right now due to the pandemic, so I have to wait. But what can I do right now to help speed the process up when they do open up to non immigrant visas?

And I'm just wondering what I do now at this point since I've received my case number?
