You are not alone. Our timelines are almost the same. My fiance called the Nvc to get our case number and was told that the Ankara embassy isn't getting new cases from Nvc due to the previous piled up ones. So I don't know how much it's going to take.  I'm also confused about ds-160 form. Should we wait to fill it up or fill it up now? is there any benefits of waiting?

I think it is better to wait. The benefit of waiting is that some of your information might change during it. I suppose the best time to fill it is after getting your interview letter.

I'm in a same situation as you guys. Our case has been at the NVC since December 23rd. I don't know why for some people it takes only a few weeks and for others it takes months. I had a thought that perhaps the NVC is doing our background checks and maybe for those who traveled a lot or lived in different countries it takes more time than for those who didn't travel much.  I have traveled to many countries maybe that's why it is taking more time for us.  How about you guys ?  Has the beneficiary traveled or lived abroad much?

Yes , I traveled a lot, too. However when we reached the NVC, they told us

We at the NVC forward cases to the embassy based upon their capacity.  The US embassy in each city will give a certain and limited number of openings available for K1 and other non-immigrant visas.  We cannot send your case to the Ankara US embassy, until they request it.  Some embassies have already re-opened fully others are behind.  Ankara is in the 2nd phase of re-opening.  Based upon current schedule, Ankara is not requesting K1 visa petitions yet.

Nothing about the background check and the other issues.

It is working for me. Make sure you select an immigrant visa.

I just received notification from NVC that they sent my case to the embassy. CEAC says "In Transit", "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

I think this is weird, since the Warsaw Embassy is closed for K1 interviews? Why would the NVC send the package to the embassy? I thought the embassy has to request it from the NVC in order for this to happen?

My embassy is in Warsaw and we received the same update from NVC today (3 Feb) as well. My guess is that the embassy just collects/stores the cases right now. I emailed the embassy yesterday (2 Feb) with the question about K-1 interviews and they confirmed they still don't do them because of Schengen Ban (PP10143).
