Good morning.  I was wondering if anyone has asked or knows if while we are waiting for our interview, is it possible to go and live with our spouse in the US?

Also, is it possible to schedule our interview at a consulate in the US instead of waiting for the Montreal backlog?  TIA

Visa interviews are not conducted inside the US as there are no US consulates inside the US.  Short visits are allowed (with proper documents) at the discretion of CBP, but you cannot live inside the US during the process.

No it's illegal to intend to adjust status when visiting the USA.  You can certainly come down and spend time with your spouse but you can't live here.  Some people have had life circumstances change while visiting their spouses so they changed to AOS but then regretted it later when they can't go back to Canada because EAD/AP take so long.   Looks also like your visa class is F2A which means your spouse is a LPR not a USC.  Even to AOS you'd have to have a valid priority date and stay on a valid visa.  Overstay isn't forgiven for LPR spouses.  Your best bet is to keep visiting but going back to Canada and do your interview in Montreal.
