This will be good news for me, I may be entering this spring for an extended stay, bring the wife let her visit family for a few weeks and let her go back home to USA.

This is great, now I don’t need a visa anymore to go with my wife! Now all I need to the provinces to allow home quarantine instead of in a shelter, so my leave wouldn’t be as wasted.

What province is that?  There are a lot of changes effective today, so look for the latest.

Here is Subic Bay children 6 and over can go out to malls, effective today.  Several other changes regarding tourists too.

Surigao del Sur. My in laws live in Tandag, the capital, and that currently requires a 14 day hard quarantine in either the new disaster shelter, or one of the local high schools. Once that loosens, I’ll book tickets right away. We were suppose to go in April, but we all know how that went.

Good luck!  Hopefully they will change that quarantine rule soon.  A friend who came in from Washington State at the beginning of November tested negative at the airport, spent 1 night at a nice hotel waiting for the result, then moved to the in-laws in Angeles City for the balance of the 14 days.  That is doable.  14 days in a disaster shelter or a high school?  No thanks!

Philippines is doing well compared to countries who have cold winters.  Hopefully Surigao will lighten up soon!

I think Philippines is going to ride this COVID game until the end.  Right now countries around the world are giving them billions of peso and have pledged more.

It great time to be in politics all the way from President down to Mayor and they are lining their pockets with all the free money.  I don't see then loosening requirements as long as all this free money is coming in.

"Since March 2020, the United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of Defense, and State Department, has invested more than Php1 billion ($22.6 million) to the Philippines' COVID-19 response."

Good news, my worry would be the inter-island transit is still very restricted and the number of flights are hard to come by in some cases, hopefully over the next few months things get a bit better.  Things are moving in the right direction so maybe light at the end of the tunnel for those with GF's or fiancés soon.

I think it is just the way they write the language and use "may".

You might might say "You can sit down now".  I might say "You may sit down now".  My teachers used to say "Get your ### back in your chair!".  "May" is the most polite.

What about Grey Ham?

Years ago my wife was asking if I had Grey Ham cracker? I was lost for while  and finally figured it out.

Yep, I don't want to have to spend 14 days sitting in my underwear in the provincial high school waiting to clear quarantine)))) The requirements vary so much from place to place.

Last guy I saw was quarantined on a basketball court along with other for 14 days, he just went to another city to renew his tourist visa.
