Hi there,

I will be going for the K1 interview in Sydney.

The Sydney P3 and basically wherever they repeat this is to bring the I-134 supporting documentation “as per the instructions”.

The instructions say only to bring a bank letter and an employment letter (since the petitioner is not self employed) and nothing about taxes. (remember this is an I-134 not a I-864).

Do I really need a tax return or tax transcript? I can just turn around and say I literally followed the instructions. Everyone seems to say yes but are they/you sure you need it for a K1?

I mean we are like 200% of the requirement and beneficiary has tens of thousands of dollars which evidence of will also be stapled to the back of the evidence even though it’s not asked for. It just seems like a hassle if we don’t need to provide it.

We did everything by the instructions for the petition with no RFE even though people send pages and pages of evidence, following exact word for word instructions was fine.

thoughts?

Admittedly I self sponsored but I took everything I could think of that might be relevant, they were not that interested but you never know.

Why risk it?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It’s just harder than usual for us to obtain right now so I’m trying to get clarification on if it’s actually a requirement or it’s possible to get by without that one document.

Although Sydney doesn’t officially self sponsor, the beneficiary has savings which the proof of balances will be tucked in as evidence to the i134.

So I’m just trying to feel out, if some people do pass the 134 with only the two instructed letters?

You can usually find an example of pretty much anything, now whether this will apply to you who knows.

I know that but i’m usually fine with these types of things so I’m trying to clarify if it is possible to not need more than the instructions say.

What about just the actual tax return that was submitted to be processed if that is obtainable?
