Yes...I called...and was on hold forever (my forever I mean over an hour an dthen I hung up and it took me 30 more minutes to get through again and then I was on hold again before finally getting an operator) I might add...but was worth it!!!!! I gave her case number and then she asked for fiance's name and b-day and my phone number. Then she asked what she could do for me. I asked if that meant they had case and she said no....we sent it out yesterday. Then I asked when they received it and then she gave me new case number.

As we say in Tennessee, 'Its never good to pissoff the cook'.

Charles

June 8 they revieved it

June 18 '07 check cashed got WAC#

No NOA1, touches, or progress given

NOA2 approved Oct 17

NOA2 card copy in mail Oct 20 (Surprise to us)

Package sent from USCIS to NVC Nov 7. (called USCIS to get this)

Nov 15, I got email at 6:57pm that our package was sent to Rio from NVC.

DON"T WAIT FOR THEM TO SEND ANYTHING, CALL AND MAKE SURE THEY GOT IT.

IF THEY DO, GO AHEAD AND SEND IN ds230,ds2001, the pics, and copy of passport

USE SEDEX AND GET THE TRACKING NUMBER.

Interview Set: Jan 29. Found this out on the embassy website under VISA's. It shows a list of visa types including K1 and shows the interview dates.

Visa granted but they mailed it using their own package delivery service. Took a week. Have money when you go to the appointment. They may also make you go and get more photos taken if they dont like the pics you bring. Just relax and dress wark because they keep the place really cold. Make sure your financials mmet the criteria or they will eat you alive.

MARRIED March 22. Sent in $1,010 in fees to Chicago to get change of status, apply for advanced parole, and ability to work documentation. Things work faster now.

May 22'08: Biometrics appointment in Santa Barbara.

humm they talk a lot huh???

what´s the steps to take to talk to a person???

I mean what number to dial?

1-800-375-5283. You press the prompt that asks "did you receive(regarding) a letter from us requesting additional info", then it asks you (it might be before this part of the sequence, I dont remember) if you know your reciept #, press for yes, then enter it, then this should transfer you to your service center. Then you can ask them if you were approved, did it leave for the NVC, etc...

I used this method 3 times. 1, to find out we were approved. 2, to see if it left, was told it was moved to loading area and 3, I was told it left the NVC.

P.S. The USCIS never updated my approval, only after I called to find out I was already approved did it update.

I called and I heard everything but what you mentioned. Just got the usual circle jerk.

Charles,

If you dont call at the right time, you will get sent back to the USCIS answering service.

They cannot tell you anything helpful. So if it says they are going to redirect you to these

people I would just hang up and call at the right time. I am guessing 8 to 4 PST for CSC.

I think the prompts are 1-2-2-4-2-1 then the receipt number (WAC=922).

Thats great vismaster! Looks like I was in the same box!

Vismaster and Daniel and Luciana, I think they forwarded our petition to Almaty on 05 July as well, because she gave me new case number and said we proceed your petition on 05 July... What do you think? :)

@Vismaster and Elmira Congrats for it finally being at NVC. I am guessing you guys called to find that out? Seen as I got my NOA2 2 days after both of you my hops are now getting bigger that mine is already there also :D.

That's approximately how long the consulate in Montreal, Canada, has been taking lately from the receipt of the petition to the interview. When we started, I had no idea that part was going to take so long. My fiancee and I had even delayed sending off the petition for two months because we didn't want to get the visa too soon.

Yeah I heard that before, man that sucks :(

Yeah thank you I hope so :)

How did you get to find out it is at NVC? Did you call? Or did the Petitioner get a letter stating this?

We called them on 603 334 0700 after press 1 and 5.

Good luck!
