Just wanted to pulse check if anyone has heard from the Dublin embassy for their visa interview appointment? It's been radio silence on my end.

I had my appointment scheduled in October but was cancelled due to the most recent Gov lockdown. So I think those people who had appointments cancelled will be first in line for future appts.

I haven't heard anything since this email from the Irish embassy on 9th Nov: "Our office recently postponed your interview due to the Irish government implementing level 5 restrictions across the country. Our office will reach out to you directly in the coming weeks with a new interview date and time.".

I would imagine they'll make some appointments available in December for those who were cancelled but I'm sure their capacity will be limited. Fingers crossed the ball starts rolling again soon!

FYI I got an email this morning from the embassy rescheduling appointment for this day next week, Monday 7th Dec. They confirmed in the email that they are scheduling first those appointments originally scheduled for October, then November and so on.

That's great news! I've yet to hear from them regarding an initial appointment so hopefully I hear from them soon... I was DQ on 16/10.

Wow! It took 4 months from DQ to get an interview date??

Yep. We DQ'd in June but with the embassy closed for so long and the backlog of applications we didn't get our first interview until November and then the second lockdown pushed us to December. Hoping our interview will go smoothly next week and this will all be behind us!

My husband had his interview today. We were originally scheduled October 27th. But got canceled due to the lockdown. It’s been a long bumpy road but we were approved today😊

That's great news, Heather! Congratulations to you both. I'm sure that's a big relief in a year of such uncertainty.

All the best.

Would it be useful to call anyone? Or do I just assume that it's in the backlog and they will send me an email when they get to it?

Thanks!

It's a matter of waiting it out unfortunately. Not sure if there's a number that'll get you through to someone with oversight of your case, but if you email usvisadublin (@) state.gov they might be able to give you an idea of  current backlogs for Dublin/ when you might be offered an appointment. Best of luck. Hope it comes soon.

Thank you very much!
