Passport returned without visa after approval at interview

VISA WAS REFUSED WITHOUT ANY REASON PASSPORT WAS RETURNED WITHOUT VISA!

Expedited interview: 17 nov 20

Salam, this group has been really helpful for my application, I had my interview on 17th nov and it went well CO asked alot of questions and kept my passport only and gave me a green paper only and said congratulations your visa has been approved, after interview I checked my visa status at CEAC it showed refused which I thought was normal, I received email to collect my passport from VFS and when I opened the package there was no visa on my passport, there was a paper which said we are returning your passport at your pre-selected address, I called the embassy they told me to email them which i did, so my question is has that happened to anyone? After approval at interview getting refused without any reason no 221g and returned the passport

They keep saying it’s under administrative processing and nothing else

8 months from DQ to Interview ? why did they take so long to give you an appointment ? on top of that they refused your VISA!

Corona i guess, Probably that’s why it got delayed for everyone. And as I said they don’t say the reason that’s why I’m confused.

They have to provide a reason and require action if needed.  If they returned your passport and do not require action from you, it could be a case where they returned it to the USCIS for verification checks of background.  That could be time consuming enough to return the passport.
