Hi,

We are trying to beat Nov 30th deadline to use older Civics exam for my mom.

Since she is not comfortable with English for all the questions, we are filling the application for her and getting the responses after translating in our native language.

Is this allowed under online submission or do we have to go by paper form ?

If online form is allowed and we submit the form by the end of day tomorrow online with payment etc, do we get 11/25 or 11/30 as submission date and get to be eligible older Civics test.

I don’t know the answer to your question exactly, but does she understand she will have to be going through all the answers to the questions (and any questions about those answers) in English at her interview? That will form the main part of the actual English test too. Is she planning on taking ESL lessons ahead of her interview?

I noticed you have several posts out here and they all appear to have a common theme, your mothers English language skills. You may want to read through this page

https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-e-chapter-2

It covers basically everything that has to do with the language requirements. The IO has to be somewhat lenient during the interview but if your mother is not able to understand or answer the questions on the N400 application (it's ok if the interviewer needs to reformulate the questions in easier to understand language) she will have a hard time meeting the English requirements, unless she able to use one of the exemptions (also explained in the link).

The way I read the manual an interpreter is allowed to prep the application but cannot be used during the interview unless the applicant meets the exemptions.
